I froze at the sight of the man standing in front of me; I wanted to scream for help but it looked like it would do no good because no one was paying attention to what was happening to me.
"Long time darling, how long has it been since I last saw you? Four years? Well, we finally get to see again." He said smiling broadly as he menacingly took further steps towards me with both hands in his pockets. With every step he took, I kept taking steps backwards until my back was against the bar counter. I felt like a helpless deer that had been cornered to an edge by a tiger ready to pounce.
"Marvin, what do you want from me." I asked trembling as he eventually stood at an arm's length away from me.
"I have searched everywhere for you, and now that I have found you, I am never going to let you go again." He grabbed my wrist and tried to pull me away with him, but I smashed the glass in my hand on his clean shaved head and took to my heels as he cried in pain holding his head.
"John! John! Where are you?" I screamed as I ran towards the door looking around for my manager. I stopped to catch my breath and as I bent down with my hands on my knees, I heard footsteps behind me. I
looked behind me and realized that he was hurriedly walking towards me with his hand still on his head. I had to find a way to get home since John was out of sight, so I straightened up and continued running but I had just ran a few steps forward when I tripped on my gown and fell down. I cried with pain and managed to get up but then I suddenly felt a grip on my wrist. I looked at the strong hand that held me firmly by the wrist with my heart pounding so fast, raising my head to see who it was, I looked straight into the cold eyes of the same man that I had successfully avoided for four years.
"How long did you think you could hide from me Julia? Did you think you could hide forever?" I felt so helpless that I merely stood still looking into his eyes like I had seen a ghost. And when I regained myself, I screamed with all my strength.
"Julia! Julia!" I looked around eagerly
because now I could hear John's voice faintly from a distance, I decided to call out louder to John since he was the only person I could trust to help get Marvin off me.
"John, I'm here... please help me!" I shouted as I cried bitterly from frustration because it didn't look like Marvin was willing to let me go.
"Julia wake up! Wake up" I jumped up with the realization that I had been sleeping and when it dawned on me that it was only just a dream, I held my chest in sweet relief. I slipped out of the bed and walked straight to my closet to pick one of my robes; I had to wear it for my makeup session after taking my bath.
"I see you were so tired that you did not only just forgot to lock your door but you also went to sleep without taking a shower or even changing your clothes." I paid no attention to what John said as I carefully looked through my collection of robes for something nice to wear because I planned on making a Get-ready-with-me video to be posted on my instagram reels. I eventually opted for a white robe with pink and purple floral patterns and since it came with a bonnet, I decided to put it on before going for my bath.
"Please ask Nora to make a glass of smoothie and to add some cookies. I am hungry." I told John this while walking past him into my bathroom. Just as I was to step into the bathtub, I heard the room door close which gave me the hint that John was out of the room. I wondered how long he had been in my room before I woke up from my dream because he mentioned that I didn't close the door and of course I knew that was a possibility. I probably sleep-walked into my room, so if he said I didn't close my door, then I probably didn't close my door. My mind shifted to my dinner date with Sir Richards which was just about two hours away and I felt a little nervous. That man was the hottest and most handsome man I had ever seen, yes Marvin was good looking but he wasn't close to Sir Richards in physical features. And to think that he had just recently been named the richest man in the country was such a great rest. How could one man be so rich and so handsome all at once? I wondered to myself. Recalling how he held my hand and refused to let me go until I agreed to go on a date with him gave me butterflies in my belly.
"Oh Julia, you're not falling for this man are you? Please don't catch feelings just yet, you barely know him." I groaned within me, I knew I had to guard my heart carefully so that I don't make the mistake of falling for a man who didn't know my worth.
