Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: A Pact with the Hutt

Anakin Skywalker, flanked by Ahsoka Tano and Shaak Ti, approached Jabba's palace, the massive doors looming ahead like an ancient sentinel. They had carried Rotta through the unforgiving desert, and now their mission was coming to its crucial juncture.

As they entered the palace, Jabba the Hutt's presence filled the grand chamber. The Hutt, massive and imposing, gazed down at them with curiosity, his long tail coiled like a serpent.

Anakin stepped forward, his voice confident and resolute, knowing that he needed to rely on the protocol droid at Jabba's side to convey his words.

"Utinni, Jabba! We've returned your son, Rotta, to you safely," the protocol droid translated.

The Hutt's bulbous eyes narrowed as he examined the frail Huttlet, who was immediately taken by medical droids for treatment. "Ho, ho, ho!" Jabba's guttural laughter echoed through the chamber.

Shaak Ti spoke calmly, her words carrying the weight of truth. "Jabba, we came to deliver a warning. The Separatists orchestrated the kidnapping of your son and planned to assassinate him, framing the Jedi for the crime."

The protocol droid translated her words, and Ahsoka added, "Ho, ho, ho!" Jabba rumbled with a mixture of anger and realization.

Anakin nodded. "Yes, Jabba. We came here not only to save Rotta but to expose the Separatists' treacherous plot. We hope you will reconsider your stance and support the Republic against this threat."

The protocol droid conveyed Anakin's message, and Jabba's gaze remained fixed on the Jedi, considering their plea.

After a lengthy pause, Jabba finally spoke in Huttese, his words translated by the protocol droid. "I demand compensation for the harm done to my son."

Anakin and the others exchanged glances, understanding the gravity of Jabba's request. They had secured an unlikely but powerful ally in the heart of the Outer Rim.

With the negotiations settled, the group of Jedi left Jabba's palace, their mission accomplished. They had not only saved an innocent life but also forged an alliance that could prove invaluable in the ongoing battle against the Separatists.

The sands of Tatooine whispered with the winds of change, and the Jedi knew that the galaxy's fate rested on their shoulders as they ventured forth into an uncertain future.

As Anakin, Ahsoka, and Shaak Ti left Jabba's palace, a sense of accomplishment and relief washed over them. They had secured Jabba's support for the Republic, and Rotta was receiving the medical attention he desperately needed. However, one concern lingered—the fate of the young Ronin, Kaelus Vossar.

Ahsoka tried to make contact with Kaelus through their comlink, but there was only silence on the other end. Worry gnawed at her heart, and she exchanged anxious glances with Anakin and Shaak Ti.

"Master, I can't reach Kaelus," Ahsoka said, her voice filled with concern.

Anakin frowned. "He should have reported in by now. Something's not right."

Shaak Ti nodded in agreement. "We cannot leave him to face Ventress and the droids alone. We must go back and lend him our aid."

With a shared understanding, the group turned back toward the treacherous desert they had just traversed. The sands of Tatooine were unforgiving, but they were Jedi, and they would not leave their comrade behind.

As they retraced their steps, worry and determination etched on their faces, the winds of Tatooine whispered secrets of the desert. In the vast expanse of the dunes, a lone Ronin's fate remained uncertain, and they would not rest until they knew that Kaelus was safe.
