Lu Zheng stood at the centre of the room, dense fire Qi was swivelling around his body.
Strong heat that caused the air to churn radiated from his body as the crimson Vermillion True Flame engulfed him.
The Vermillion True Flame wrapped around Lu Zheng's body like a flowing robe that reached the ground.
Intricate patterns and runes that seemed to contain the profundities of fire path danced within the robe of fire.
At the moment, Lu Zheng looked like a god of fire that had descended upon the earth to drown it in flames.
"Swoosh"
The robe made out of Vermillion True Flame disappeared as a complex look formed on Lu Zheng's face.
He was thinking.
~This Flame Cloak is a defensive bloodline ability unlike Ignition. It is probably not as high tier as Ignition since the expenditure of bloodline power is slower. But… it is still usable~
After testing Flame Cloak, Lu Zheng found out that it was a defensive bloodline ability that could protect him from physical harm to a certain degree.
It was unlike Ignition that provided him an explosive boost in battle strength.
To be honest, Lu Zheng was slightly disappointed. However, he knew that if bloodline abilities were all like Ignition, the Vermillion Bird Race would be incomparable in battle strength.
His guess was right, Ignition was a top tier bloodline ability that all Vermillion Birds clamoured for.
"What if…?" An idea suddenly streaked past Lu Zheng's thoughts. "What if I use Ignition and Flame Cloak together?"
The thought sounded perfect to Lu Zheng. Ignition was purely offense whilst Flame Cloak was purely defence, combining both would make the ideal technique.
Once the thought formed in his mind, Lu Zheng was unable to think of anything else. He had to test if it was possible.
Immediately, Lu Zheng controlled his bloodline power and activated Flame Cloak.
The blood in his blood vessels began to boil and churn as divine runes formed within it.
On the surface, his hair turned scarlet and his pupils became the deepest tinge of red.
Vermillion True Flame combusted on Lu Zheng's body and rapidly transformed into a long flowing robe.
Bloodline power was slowly being expended.
Lu Zheng closed his eyes to concentrate.
Like an explosion, Lu Zheng's aura spread out as his already scarlet hair elongated by several times.
His height increased rapidly and even the crimson Vermillion True Flame that formed the Flame Cloak multiplied.
An omnipotent-like aura that made others cower in fear to it was emitted from Lu Zheng's body.
However, in but an instant, both Ignition and Flame Cloak deactivated and even the blood in Lu Zheng's body stopped boiling.
The omnipotent aura that was emitted from Lu Zheng was nowhere to be found.
"Thud"
Lu Zheng fell to his knees as many drops of sweat dropped from his head.
He was panting heavily.
"The expenditure of bloodline power is too much!" Lu Zheng groaned.
In that short while that he used both Ignition and Flame Cloak together, almost all of his bloodline power was expended.
Only a tiny strand remained within him.
This meant that the combination of both bloodline abilities was an impossible feat. Not if he couldn't bear the cost.
Lu Zheng willed out a large chunk of rank six beast meat from his spatial ring and dug into it.
Within ten breaths of time, the large chunk of meat was completely gone. Even the tough bones of the rank six beast were chewed and digested by Lu Zheng.
One could imagine how weak he felt.
The strong refined fleshy and blood energy within the chunk of meat went into every cell and fibre of Lu Zheng's body, rejuvenating his physical conditions.
Even so, the fatigue Lu Zheng felt was still present.
"This is mental fatigue. I also lost mental energy?" Lu Zheng was shocked.
Mental energy was extremely important as it dealt directly with the soul. Expending too much of it at a time could cause the soul to collapse.
Lu Zheng felt frightened. He knew he had been too reckless with his test.
The mental fatigue overcame Lu Zheng and he fell into a deep sleep.
