Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Lu Clan’s Bloodline

Lu Clan Tower

By the time Lu Zheng opened his eyes again, he was inside the Lu Clan tower with many other martial warriors from his clan.

"Lu Tiao, Lu Chyou, Lu Xiang, Lu Zheng, Lu Zhao…" Lu Tao, Lu Zheng's uncle called out as he counted the returnees. Among them, some were injured and some wore joyful expressions.

However, there were people that didn't return at all.

They died.

"Zheng'er!" Lu Shantian's voice suddenly rang out.

"Father!" Lu Zheng ran towards him.

"How was the tournament?" Lu Shantian asked.

"It was great except for those Fang clansmen I met. They seemingly held a grudge against our Lu Clan" Lu Zheng replied with enthusiasm.

"I see. You managed to survive all that and even brokethrough to the second tier of Refinement realm. I am very proud of you.

Perhaps… it is time" Lu Shantian's voice became distant as he spoke.

"It is time? Time for what?" Lu Zheng asked.

"Come with me" Lu Shantian said as he walked out of the tower, carrying Lu Zheng on his neck.

With a jump, he flew into the sky, moving at a very high speed.

~Sky realm cultivation base! The third tier even. So this is father's true strength~

After a while, Lu Shantian arrived at Lu Clan's village and landed. With Lu Zheng behind him, he walked towards Lu Yang Palace.

Lu Zheng gazed at the gigantic building before him, his mouth widening in amazement. Even though this wasn't his first time of seeing the Palace, it still managed to amaze him all the time.

Lu Shantian's footsteps were quick and soon he reached an area behind Lu Yang Palace that Lu Zheng had never seen before.

The place was very desolate despite its closeness to Lu Clan village yet, dense Qi swivelled there.

The Qi felt very strange when Lu Zheng came in contact with it and with his past life's experience, he was soon able to determine the type of Qi it was.

~Space Qi! Why is there such dense space Qi here?~

Lu Shantian came to an abrupt spot before biting his index finger, allowing his blood to drip from it.

"What is going on?" Lu Zheng couldn't bear his curiosity anymore and asked.

"Remember when I told you to give your mother five drops of your blood?" Lu Shantian asked, ignoring Lu Zheng's question.

"Y-Yes, that was before the inter-clan tournament" Lu Zheng replied.

"Well, I did a few tests and it turns out, you inherited our Lu Clan's bloodline!" Lu Shantian said with a bright smile.

"Bloodline?" Lu Zheng muttered quizzically.

"Hmm. Many years after the Qi asteroid that brought cultivation to Earth landed, a certain Sage came to our Lu Clan. This Sage was unbelievably strong with all sorts of unprecedented techniques. The only difference was that he wasn't human.

However, this Sage said he was on the run from something, someone and he decided to take refuge in our Lu Clan. During his stay, he fell in love with our first generation Patriarch's daughter and they married. Their children ended up inheriting his unique bloodline and cultivated the same path as him.

As the years passed and more generations came by, the bloodline began to thin till it became rare for newly born Lu clansmen to inherit it. But the Sage had anticipated this.

He had left an inheritance, a secret realm, for those who still inherited his bloodline. Since then, any Lu clansmen that inherited the Sage's bloodline would be sent into this secret realm to temper their bodies and advance their cultivation. Zheng'er, let me see your fire"

Lu Zheng nodded slowly as he opened his palm, allowing his Qi to combust into a small flame.

The flame was very hot with a crimson tinge to it.

Lu Shantian smiled brightly: "The flame with the greatest yang attribute. Zheng'er, you have inherited the Vermillion True Flame of our Lu Clan!"
