Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Serperior's red eyes kept the little water type in place.

Once again, as if he had a cold, Madara the Oshawott shivered. He never broke the gaze of this massive pokémon.

It was like there was no escape. Even if he ran, the grass type's long body could lash out like a whip and coil around his small frame, ready for lunch.

At that point, the Serperior had a mouthful, chewing at a constant rate.

Next, he swallowed.

That was fuel to Madara's nightmare of a thought.

Perhaps this beast could devour him whole without a try.

With their gazes still in synch, the grass type lowered his head, closer to Madara.

"Greetings, young blood,"

The water type stepped back.

"I ain't gonna hurt ya," Serperior smirked, looking down at Madara, "I want to have a chat,"

Madara sighed.

"I am called Bombastic, but you can call me Mister B, if ya like," The grass type spoke, a warm smile strewn on his face, "can I know yours?'

Now, Madara kept his mouth shut, his small white arms on his face.

"Not one to talk, are ya?" Bombastic tilted his head, "No problem..."

"M-mm..."

"Huh?" The grass type eyed him.

"Madara," Was all the water type could say as right after, he closed his eyes and shook his head.

"Madara? Very...peculiar," Bombastic replied, nodding, "Not a bad name, however,"

"What's going on here?"

The two looked over.

Madara gazed on, shivering once again.

Bombastic rolled his eyes.

"Lilligant," He exhaled, shifting his body a bit, "Refrain from any weirdness on the little guy,"

"I won't hurt the little squirt," Lilligant giggled, holding her leafy arms together, "now that I'm talking..."

She looked at Madara.

"How about you and I have a conversation?" Lilligant gave him a strange gaze when she said that, "Somewhere...private?"

"AHH!" Madara squeaked, then turned the other paw and sprinted away.

"W-Wait!" Lilligant exclaimed.

She lowered her head, "I ju-just wanted to be friends..."

"That's ya own fault," Bombastic muttered, "for having small legs, that little guy sure runs fast,"

"I'll go an-and apologize," Lilligant said with a melancholy tone, the blossoming flower on her head lowered as well, "he needs that much,"

"Ya won't catch him with your four legs," Bombastic chuckled as she walked with a slouched posture.

The ends of his mouth raised, and then they lowered when his gaze landed on someone.

"Did you feel that, Mister B?"

The fire type looked into the distance, steam oozing from his breath.

"Now ya call me that, Notorious?" The grass type raised his snout, "I prefer Bombastic,"

Notorious the Emboar stared blankly at him.

"I can sense something from that youngling," He continued.

"Don't ignore me!" Bombastic puffed up his chest.

"Then answer my question,"

The grass type stayed silent to hear it again.

The fire type cleared his throat, "That fire, did you feel it?"

Bombastic looked at his friend with concern.

"Nope, not at all," He replied, "Did all these years within this place knock down on your noggin?"

Notorious exhaled again.

"Let me...rephrase that,"

"Please do that, will ya?"

This would quickly come to bite the grass type in the tail.

"That Oshawott is like a crackling fire," Notorious continued, raising an arm, "Burned with the embers of the average youth..."

"But, that fire is under a heavy rainstorm,"

Bombastic scrunched up his face.

"That doesn't make sense!"

"..."

"..."

"How about this," Notorious looked at Bombastic, "he is like an oven, embedded with the cindering flames within..."

He paused.

"...but the oven's made of ice,"

"Now ya just gone off the deep end..."

The two pokémon stared at each other.

"Stay with me," The fire type said, "it is reminiscent of a structure,"

"Uh huh,"

"On the outside... Brand new, without a mark of dirt on its walls," Notorious explained, "but..."

Bombastic prepared his ears.

"Inside, it is a cemetery, filled with decay."

The grass type raised an eye.

"Mmm, I understand ya. One out of three. Not bad, Notorious,"

The fire type almost grinned.

"Inside, lay a swarm of Karrablast within the walls,"

Bombastic frowned in outrage, "Ya ruined it! Arceus, your analogies are giving me an analeurysm."

"That is an incorrect way of saying aneurysm-"

"Does it look like I GIVE A DAMN?!" The grass type retorted, slamming his tail.

He paused for a moment, looking over at the family by the table, especially his trainer.

Bombastic sighed, his tensed body releasing.

"My apologies, Notorious," He said, smiling, "I am excited after meeting Sasha again for so long,"

"I have my sympathies," Notorious replied, shutting his eyes, "One can get tired of seeing the same face,"

"Are ya sure about that?" Bombastic looked at the fire type.

"I meant something else," The fire type replied, "but, you sure are pleased to see Sasha's return,"

"Something I agree with ya," Bombastic nodded, "Hearing her voice once more was such a treat, kinda like photosynthesis, but multiplied by a hundred!"

"Also, when she scolded me earlier, it took me back," He looked at Notorious, "ya know, I kinda want her to do...it..."

The fire type had a face of perplexity.

"I do not need to know your...pleasures,"

"Hold on a minute, ya dummy!" Bombastic tried to reply, "Ya got the wrong message, you dumb fo-"

"Oh well," Notorious interrupted his argument, "Whatever it is, one's deepest desire must be kept true to one's self,"

The grass type slapped his own head with a sigh.

"WAH!"

Something zipped past them, leaving a dust trail behind.

Not too far away, the two could see Lilligant.

She was arguing with another pokémon.

"So close, so close!" She seethed, clenching her leaf arms in rage, "Why did you have to do that!?"

Excadrill, who unknowingly dug out of the long trail she made, looked up at the one swearing damnation at her.

She only had eyes of confusion.

"What did I do? What did I do?" The ground type could only retort with this.

While that went on, Bombastic and Notorious followed the dust trail.

It led to Hilbert.

"Madara?" Broken away by his parent's conversation, he looked at his lap.

"O-o-osh-sh-sh-a," The water type shivered, holding himself with his small arms.

"He looks so frightened," His mother spoke, looking around, then at her husband.

"Emile..."

"What?" He asked, frowning, "My pokémon? Nonsense. There's no reason for them to attack Madara,"

"Mine would never," Sasha said matter-of-factly.

They looked at Hilbert.

"There, there," He said, holding Madara within his arms, "No need to be afraid,"

"Osh, Osh, Osh," His erratic breathing pattern began to soothe as he was held in an embrace.

"Let's not get off topic," Hilbert's father spoke, running a hand through his hair.

"Yes, you're right," Hilbert's mother continued, interlocking her hands with her elbows on the table, "Now, where we left off..."

As the talking continued, Notorious P.I.G, the Emboar, turned his head.

It was Mister Bombastic, the Serperior, however, that spoke first.

"Ya know, now that I saw that," He said, "I understand what you mean, Notorious,"

Notorious nodded.

"I understand that you lost a lot of sense here," Bombastic smirked.

The fire type frowned.

"Although," He continued, "I stand with your view on those analogies you made up,"

"Do you think," Notorious spoke, "he has a chance?"

"I think it's better to keep one's desire to themselves, don't ya agree?" The grass type had a smug look on his face.

"I can see that one's true desire can often appear without their control,"

"What ya mean?" Bombastic looked again, then frowned, "Shuddup! I told you already..."

He stopped.

The tips of the grass type's mouth rose.

"We will never stop bickering, will we?"

Notorious looked up.

"Fun is like time," He said, sitting down, "Sometimes we forget about it, but it will always be there to remind us,"

Bombastic blinked, coiling his body in a single space.

"About what ya said," He spoke, "about the chance against Volcarona?"

The fire type nodded, having a chill crawl down his spine.

"Everyone has a chance," Bombastic answered, "but not everyone can use a chance properly."

"Waiting will be the best thing we can do," Notorious said, crossing his arms, "but, your statement is like-"

"Ya better not start again!"
