Chapter 92 - Arc 2 - Chapter 31: Invited and Uninvited Guests (2/2)

If they let them escape now, it might be too late, they might never catch them again. No one would say it, but everyone believed that one of them was the killer and this was the only chance they had to catch him.

People woke up after hearing the noises in the houses and went to the windows, balconies and streets to see what had happened. Everyone was trying to understand the fight, and the people who came out of the house Sharley had entered looked very frightened.

"If the man in that house is alive, just kill him! One of you go and report to the police station. You will be compensated."

When he took a look at the houses, he saw that there was too much damage for a few gold coins to get rid of. He could not pay for all this out of his pocket.

"Lylphia will send the bill to the academy."

While Yu was giving commands to the other people, Ana took the dog out of the house. The hound sniffed the ground and barked.

"I think we're one man short."

Yu was just realizing, but Raul was gone. He looked around and saw Raul unconscious against the wall of the house where he was staying.

"Fucking unqualified."

From the very first minutes of the struggle, he was out of the game and had lost his usefulness.

"Let's not waste time, let's run!"

Ana shouted and the three girls started running with the dog in front of them. There was a trail of blood that Rino had left on the ground, even without the dog they could have followed the animal's trail for a while, and judging by the amount of blood on the ground it was only a matter of time before the animal died before they got too far

"I can't believe we're going to chase a horse at a run."

"It's not a horse, it's a rino."

"Should we discuss this now, Yurine? What difference does it make?"

Yu started running, following Sivina, Ana and Lylphia. Yurine was on his lap and so their speed was a little slowed down, but still Yu was running faster than he had ever run before. Because the girls in front of him were about to give them a gap that would be hard to close and...

"God, what beautiful things you create..."

Lylphia was a cute girl too, but Yu wasn't interested in her. Yu wasn't a man obsessed with breasts, as long as they weren't flat he was fine with it and he didn't care if the girls were tall or short. But he was still looking for proportion and the disproportion of Lylphia being short but having big breasts bothered Yu.

But when it came to Sivina and Ana, things were different. Not only were they both beautiful, they were well proportioned, well shaped, with perfect bodies. From the first moment Yu saw them, he thought they would make ideal waifus for an isekaiser's harem.

And now that he saw them in their pajamas, he decided that they were both much more beautiful than he had thought. Especially Ana's pajamas were tighter than Sivina's and showed off the full outline of her buttocks. Although Yu didn't prefer girls with short hair, he found it hard to take his eyes off them.

"Where are you looking at?"

Yurine grabbed Yu's hair and started pulling it. Yu was embarrassed to be caught. He could neither answer nor look at Yurine's face. Yurine decided that she had punished him enough and let go of his hair.

"I think I'll run faster if you let me go."

"If I let you, I'll die, I'm serious."

He had no jokes about it. He was not only afraid of the possibility of a seizure, he was also afraid of the Sharley they were leaving behind.

Sharley didn't look healthy at all, and Lylphia's blow to him was so strong that if it had landed on Yu, he would at best have walked away with broken bones. So, Sharley really should have been eliminated.

But if this were an RPG game, Yu's luck skill score would be zero. Which would mean this: If Yu was in trouble, the world would gladly keep Sharley alive and somehow make him come after Yu again.

When this happened and Sharley caught Yu without Yurine, of course he wasn't going to argue with him like a civilized person. Sharley would kill him as soon as he found him and turn his sights on Yurine.

"Were those people murderers?"

"I don't know, but I believe it is. In fact, I give it a ninety-eight point nine percent chance."

He saw the clothes they were wearing but could not recognize the face of one of them because of the hat he was wearing when he fell to the ground. But the one holding the staff had brown hair.

"Why was that bastard with them?"

"Were they together? Sharley didn't seem to me to have the intelligence to cooperate with anyone."

Sharley had come here uninvited, it must have been a coincidence that he appeared at the same time as the other two guests. Yu didn't think he had the capacity to think clearly and cooperate with anyone.

And if they assumed that one of them was the killer, it should not have been possible for Sharley to find and cooperate with the killer while no one else could. To Yu, it was just an annoying coincidence.

"You run so fast, you're very sporty."

Yu was breathing his ass off, so to speak, his spleen hurting from running. Yurine started to make fun of Yu as his speed slowed down more and more.

"Maybe I'll run faster if you choose to cast a healing spell on me instead of talking, I'm having trouble breathing now."

Yurine began to transfer the mana in her body into Yu's body. As the healing mana penetrated his body, the pain in his spleen disappeared and his breathing became easier.

But the gap between him and the others had widened too much and Yurine's magic did not allow Yu to run faster than his potential.

If he had taken a circuitous route, running through alleys instead of running on a straight road, he would have lost them already, and after a minute of running he had already lost sight of them.

"I think they're going out of town."

Yurine was supporting Yu with her healing magic while Yu was running as fast as he could, pushing himself to his limits and trying to catch up with the girls in front of them.

***

Just like Yu, who was coming up behind them, Sivina and her companions realized that the men they were chasing were trying to run out of town.

"Watch out!"

Lylphia sent a huge fireball towards the rock that the sorcerer sitting behind Rino had ripped out of the ground and sent at them. The fireball and the rock collided and exploded in the air.

When the cloud of mana created by the explosion of the fire spell disappeared, they saw the fugitives running, leaving the wounded Rino in their wake. Rino was dying on the ground.

"The guy in the back was under rino."

There were laws that prevented Lylphia from using her magic to her heart's content. She was forbidden to use fire magic directly on humans, and if she wanted to use it on a human, her opponent had to make the first move.

If it turned out to be the Redchapel Killer, at least the state wouldn't blame Lylphia for it, but if it was a common thief or if he killed Sony with his magic, there could be trouble.

So instead of attacking them on sight, Lylphia targeted rino to at least stop them from escaping.

Rino, wounded by Lylphia, fell and crushed the man next to him. The crushed man was running slower than the mage in front of him. When the mage realized that his friend was falling behind, he stopped and, after a moment's concentration, pulled out a three-meter wall that covered the entire path.

To remove the wall blocking their vision, Ana attacked it with wind and Lylphia with fire magic, but the spells were not enough to break it down.

It was more practical to jump over the wall than to try to break it down.

First Ana, who was holding the dog's leash, accelerated, picked up the dog and jumped over the wall in one leap. Then Sivina and Lylphia also jumped over the wall in one leap, as did Ana.

"Where are they?" Sivina couldn't see the men they were chasing.

"Dog!"

Ana hadn't even put the dog down when the animal started hunting. Apparently, even though they had passed rino, the scent of the animal had gotten to the fugitives. Ana put the dog down and the animal started running like crazy.

"It's good we got this."

The dog first led them through winding roads and alleyways, then took a straight road and started running towards the exit of the town.

"Are we going into the forest?" Ana asked.

"Of course! We've come this far, this is the only chance we have to catch them." Sivina could hardly contain her excitement as she ran alongside Ana.

"Mr. Valarfin and Yurine stayed behind."

"It's okay." Lylphia understood Ana's concern. "I threw little fireballs on the ground on the way in and left tracks. They'll follow the soot on the ground and catch up with us."

Following the dog's lead, they left the town and entered the forest. The hound was running confidently and they were running after it.
