Chapter 3
The Path To Be The Strongest
"First thing you need to know, Monster. For you to be able to efficiently use your ability. You need to know the fundamentals of magic. So let me discuss it to you easily." In our day one of our training, Chronas spent a day discussing to me what I should know about magic. And how it works and where magic comes from.
And as per her, magicules are the source of every being's magic. And everyone in this world has had it on their body since they were born. And magicules power will verify, depending on the color of your magi-core that has eleven stages.
The first color stage is the pure-black magi-core, the next one's is light-black magi-core, dark-violet, light-violet, dark-yellow, light-yellow, dark-silver, light-silver, dark-white, light-white, and lastly, the very ultimate form of a magi-core: pure-white magi-core color.
Meaning to say, the more light your magi-core is, the more powerful a being is.
Chronas said that if someone reaches the color of pure-white. They are considered as the strongest beings in the continent, and currently, in Livettia, there is only a small number of beings who reach pure-white stage.
"Chronas, I have a question," I interrupt her discussion as my curiosity overpowers me.
"Drop it," She said coolly.
"What if, two pure-white users clash in a fight? Who do you think will win?" Just like what she wants, I drop the idea that is keep on bothering me as she tells me how the ranking system in this world works.
She didn't reply in an instant to my question, instead, she looked at me with amazement in her eyes while smiling.
'What's up with her, now?'
"Nice question, Kid. But I think you hit the wrong question."
"Huh? What do you mean? I didn't understand," I growled in confusion.
She laughs, before answering, "Kid, you don't really know anything, aren't you?" I didn't answer her mockering. Instead, I wait for her to answer my question properly.
She heaved a sigh, "When two pure-white stages clash, one of them will die, obviously. But the major part is," Her ominous smile grows again, "When two pure-white clash, they can erase one kingdom on the map because of the backlash of their powers. The continent can't just stand the contraction of powerful beings that's why it has so many casualties if that will happen. "
I grew silent to that answer to my question while staring blankly to Chronas face.
'So that's how strong, pure-white stage, huh? Shit... I must avoid meeting one of them. I don't have a chance if they will fight with me as of my current status and level.'
Chronas speak again, "That's why due to that, the pure-white stagers, build a non-treaty agreement and a faction to prevent them from fighting. They are now called: The Vanguards. Which each one of the Kingdom in the continent has a representative to it to keep the balance in power. They are now also calling themselves the pacemaker of the continent."
…
"Chronas, may I ask a question again?"
"You're now asking Monster. Just drop it."
"Did you hate them?" I didn't stop my mouth from asking that question when it is really noticable when she is speaking that she has a hidden grudge to those people in power, that she is calling The Vanguards.
She smirked at me first before sitting in one of the ruins here on the safe zone floor and looked away to me, crossed arms, "Yes, I hate them, Monster. They are pretenders who only want power and domination. And also, they are the reason why I am here anyway," she gets back her gaze at me and gives me her sarcastic smirk.
"They are the beings who try to assassinate me because they see me as a threat that needs to be disposed of as soon as they see a chance to keep their dirty business working and make other beings' lives suffer. That's them. Ha… petty people, right?" She continued.
I didn't reply though. I just stared at Chronas' bitter-angry face as I realized that even though in this world, there are still beings who still live for their own sake. People who have dark motives on those high seats still exist, who don't want the betterment of other people, nevertheless, want betterment just for their own. Tsk.
'The Vanguard, huh? I guess I need to keep my watch on them.'
THE TENSION died down, as soon as Chronas started discussing again the things I should need to know about magic and stuff here in Livettia. I also didn't bother to ask more about the issue regarding the Vanguard people and to her because I see that she doesn't want to talk about it right now, that's why I just respect it.
And after the long discussion, we also decided to rest and call it a day. And afterward, on the next day, Chronas started her hellish training to me to increase my magi-core and combat skills.
"Monster, don't just use your skills effortlessly! You will run out of mana at this point, try to use your head to land a hit on me!" Chronas taunting is not helping me to concentrate to land any of my skills on her. And to add, she is really fast and an overwhelming opponent! I am really outleveled!
"Focus, monster! Is that all you got?! How weak!" She said with full dismay in her tone while effortlessly avoiding my skills in the mid-air with a smile-of-mocking plastered on her beautiful face.
My boiled run dry, "Shut up! And just wait for me to hit you!" I growl as I try to cast my two abilities simultaneously.
"Silver thread!"
"Grass grip!"
[Alert! The host proficiency to use his skills grows rapidly. Kai!]
[Alert! Mana expansion to the mana vessel of the host also increasing. Kai!]
'Ha! This is it, just wait for me to be stronger than you Chronas! You will see! You will cry for forgiveness and kneel down for me! Haha!'
"Focus monster! You are day dreaming again, in the midst of a fight! If I am allowed to do counter attack, you are dead now!" Chronas mockering again get my ass out back to reality.
I feel more angrier than earlier, "Shut up! And take this!"
"Silver thread!"
"Grass grip!"
"Silver thread again!"
"And this one! This one! This one!"
[Alert! The host proffiency to use his skills grows rapidly. Kai!]
[Alert! Mana expansion to the mana vessel of the host also increasing. Kai!]
"Huh! That's it, monster! Use your head for a fight and not for your day dreamings! That more efficient!"
"Shut up!"
And with that, my hellish training with this violet-lunatic woman starts.
