"What?" She who turned her back on her husband at that time quickly turned her body again to see him face to face.
"Say that again. I didn't hear it wrong, right?"
Duchess Hermine did not expect that that was what her husband would say to her then as soon as they left to talk in private. She thought they would discuss about Alexander, how he did not seem surprised to see that her husband was still alive, but turns out something bigger is being told to her here.
"No my wife. You heard it right. Adeline Conrad is still alive out there. At least, she is, the last time I saw her."
Hermine breath almost stopped as soon as she heard this news. Confused and relieved coming to her at the same time. Either way, Adeline Conrad has always been a close friend to her all this time even way before both of them got married to the man of their choice.
