Marriage is the most beautiful thing. Lana often thought about her dream wedding with the person she loved. A simple wedding with a few close friends and family members. At least that was Lana's dream.
A dream that now only remained a fantasy. Because in reality, her wedding to Sky was held in a grandiose manner. There were even some media outlets that covered the wedding exclusively.
Lana had always been indifferent to the business world, so she had no idea that Sky's family owned the best company in their city. Throughout the event, she only forced a smile. At least, she was relieved because her family looked very happy with this wedding.
Sky Bailey, the heir to the company, was a quite famous man—very famous, in fact. Lana was the only one who was too unconcerned about the latest news in her city. She had just learned that the Bailey family was among the wealthiest families in the world.
"They're rich, but they're still chasing after a hundred-thousand-dollar debt by buying me," Lana muttered in frustration.
Lana had been standing by Sky's side for an hour, welcoming the continuous stream of guests. She didn't even know how many people were attending her wedding. She didn't know any of these people except for her friends.
"Lana! You never told me you were in a relationship with Sky!" exclaimed Rebecca, her high school friend.
"Surprise?" Lana replied with an awkward laugh.
"Wow, you're really lucky!"
Sky cleared his throat and then glanced at Lana with his smile. Lana knew that Sky felt satisfied because people had repeatedly told her that she was a lucky woman.
"Ah, if only the world knew how rotten Sky is," Lana thought.
Sky was a good name, but instead of being beautiful and calming like the sky she loved, Sky was more like a cloudy sky with thunderstorms. His hurtful words were like lightning strikes.
The wedding event ended in the middle of the night. Lana's feet were trembling from standing all day. She had even lost count of how many people had attended her wedding. She planned to sleep during the journey to Seoul.
"You must be tired," Hana said as she handed Lana a suitcase.
"Hm, but I'm fine," Lana replied.
"Thank you." Lana took the yellow suitcase with many stickers from Hana's hand.
The families had decided that Sky and Lana should go on their honeymoon right after the wedding. Lana couldn't rest at all. She planned to sleep in plane.
"After this, take some rest, and then enjoy your honeymoon," her mother advised.
"Yes, Mom."
Lana turned to her father, who now looked at her with teary eyes. "Oh, Dad. Don't cry."
"I didn't expect you to actually get married," Arthur remarked. He hugged his eldest daughter tightly.
"Thank you, my darling. And forgive me for pushing you into this marriage. I just hope you're happy with it," her father whispered.
Lana nodded. "I am happy, Dad. Don't worry about anything anymore."
"She must be happy because she's now part of the Bailey family," her mother chimed in. "Sky is a good man, don't you worry."
"Hm. He's good to me," Lana lied.
Lana had to swallow all her pain to see her parents smile. For her, everything would be fine as long as her family was happy.
"After this, you're going on your honeymoon to Seoul. Ah, I'm so jealous," Hana exclaimed.
"Don't be jealous. Someday, we should go there together. And I'll bring back lots of souvenirs," Lana replied.
"Thank you!" Hana hugged Lana and patted her back. "Take care."
Lana nodded. She hugged Hana before heading to the hotel room on the top floor, which was rented by the Bailey family. Upon entering the room, Lana had to quickly close her eyes when she saw Sky shirtless.
"Why aren't you wearing clothes?" Lana grumbled while covering her face with both hands.
"I just finished showering," Sky replied. "And we're married now, so I'm free to undress in front of you."
Lana's face turned red. She truly hated this reality, and she would never be ready to be intimate with Sky.
"You said I'm not your type. You shouldn't expect to sleep with me," Lana tried to make an excuse.
Sky sighed, then reached for a shirt in his suitcase to put on. "That's true. I have no interest in sleeping with you."
"Good."
Lana finally breathed a sigh of relief. She lowered her hands and looked at Sky, who was now dressed neatly in front of her.
"This marriage isn't based on love, so we have to live our own lives," Lana said.
"Who said it could be like that?" Sky retorted, crossing his arms. His arrogant pose had begun, Lana thought.
"You yourself said you didn't want to sleep with me," Lana quipped.
"That's true, but I also have biological needs. Besides, I bought you. You have to obey all my words."
Lana sighed heavily. She nodded and placed her suitcase next to the bed.
"Fine. Whatever. I'm going to take a shower now. Move."
Lana was truly exhausted and wanted to clean herself up right away. After this, they had to head to the airport to catch their flight. The journey from London to Seoul would take nearly thirteen hours. She couldn't imagine how tired she would be.
"You can't just walk past me like that," Sky held onto Lana's arm, stopping her in her tracks. Apparently, Sky wasn't about to let Lana live in peace for even a moment.
"What is it now?" Lana's tone had become very annoyed.
"I'm hungry. Order some food first."
"You can order it yourself!"
"My hands are too tired to pick up the phone."
"You—okay."
Lana turned back to reach for the phone by the bedside. It felt futile to argue with Sky, so she promptly called the hotel service and ordered steak for their dinner.
"Done, now move aside. I want to shower," Lana said, but Sky still held her arm.
"What do you want?" Lana exclaimed with wide eyes.
"Nothing. I just enjoy seeing you angry," Sky replied with a chuckle.
"You're such a weirdo!"
Lana had lost her patience. She kicked Sky's leg and walked into the bathroom, ignoring Sky's cries of pain and curses directed at her.
Lana smiled with satisfaction, having gotten back at Sky. Now, she just wanted to enjoy her time soaking in the warm water. Lana adjusted the water temperature and added sweet fragrances for herself.
After removing the incredibly constricting wedding dress, Lana felt relieved to finally be able to rest her body in the warm water. Her stiff muscles felt better now.
Tack!
Lana had just closed her eyes to enjoy her time, but they flew open when she heard the bathroom door open. Her surprise doubled when she saw the annoying face of Sky.
"Why are you in here?!" Lana yelled.
"You didn't lock the door, I thought you did it on purpose, inviting me to take a bath together," Sky said with a mischievous smile.
"Don't be insane! I just forgot to lock it!"
"No need to pretend. I know you want me."
Sky approached Lana until Lana crossed her arms in front of her chest to cover her naked body. Luckily, she had poured plenty of soap into the bath, creating a foamy cover.
"Don't come any closer! Or I'll kill you!" Lana threatened.
"Wow, you're really harsh," Sky replied, pretending to be hurt by Lana's words.
"I just wanted to take a bath with my wife, is that so wrong?" he asked afterward.
"You've already bathed! And I told you I don't want anything to do with you!" Lana exclaimed.
"So, my hundred-thousand-dollar payment will be in vain," Sky retorted.
Lana's face turned red with pent-up anger. She felt helpless because she couldn't do anything, especially as Sky began to unbutton his shirt.
No, Lana wouldn't allow Sky to touch her. She needed to find a way to escape.
