It took me nearly an hour to calm down. "W..where am I?"
"You just woke up from your coma, you've been asleep for a year."
'Whats going on?' I looked around and my room was the same as I remembered it. I was at the third level of Golden Core as well.
'Everything was too vivid to be a dream. What exactly was that?'
I didn't want to remember any of what I saw during that 'dream'. I felt helpless while everything was happening, I wasn't able to do anything. I needed to be a strong as I could be before the secret realm begins.
I need to spend all of my time cultivating, I could learn skills whenever I wanted but cultivation took priority.
"Are you alright?" Master asked, still concerned about my state after waking up.
"I'm fine" I said with a weak smile on my face.
"Don't push yourself too hard."
With that, he left. I knew what I had to do now. After washing up I sat in a lotus position and began accumulating qi. It felt different than when I was cultivating in the 'dream'. I was accumulating qi faster and smoother than before.
***
With the speed I was cultivating and not learning the palm technique first I had reached the peak four months earlier than in the dream, it was time to breakthrough.
"Master..."
"Is it time already? I'll protect you, so you can rest assured."
"Actually, I'd like to do this on my own." I didn't want to see master suffer again. Even when I took that last strike head on nothing much happened, I was confident I could do it.
"This... if that's what you want, I'll still watch over you and step in if anything goes wrong."
"Thank you!"
Master only nodded and flew to the peak on a sword, taking me with him.
As I sat in the middle of the formation that was now inactive I was getting a little nervous. I was a little hesitant but proceeded anyway. After breaking past the paper thin wall the sky darkened quickly. The same scene that I saw in my dream played out, multicolored lightning finally stopping on white and a divine white tiger made of lightning descended from the sky. This time I looked straight up at it while fortifying my body with qi, I didn't shift to the void, use the formation, or talisman. I was preparing myself for an onslaught of lightning but nothing came. The white tiger slashed is claws towards me and a large bolt of lightning fell upon me.
Similar to last time I didn't feel the strength of the lightning but my blood was boiling, it was even worse than I remembered it being. The white tiger left the sky and seven lightning bolts took its place, each of the lightning bolts was one of the colors of the rainbow. I didn't remember this happening last time but then again my memory started to haze around this point.
One after the other I was struck by red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet lightning. It definitely hurt worse than the first one but it wasn't that bad, I could have probably taken the bolts without covering my body in qi.
By blood was still burning and my skin was a shade of red as well sure to the heat permeating my body.
I tried circulating my qi to get rid of the heat but it was only made worse.
"Master? What should I do? The heat won't go away"
Master took my wrist and injected qi into it, his eyes lit up and he had a smile on his face.
"Not only did you attract the seven colored tribulation you even awakened your bloodline. Hahaha, the heavens must favor you greatly, you saved my life as well."
"What's the seven colored tribulation? What do you mean I've awakened my bloodline? And what do you mean I saved your life?" These questions all came out at once, I had heard of bloodline awakening but didn't know too much about it, the other term was new to me as well.
"The seven colored tribulation is one of the best things that could happen to a cultivator. You must know that even twins born with the same spirit root that cultivate the same amount would have different achievements. Some people are born more in tune to the world than others so they have a better affinity with qi, this isn't talked about a lot as it is almost impossible to study something as mysterious as an affinity with energy itself. The seven colored tribulation is said to make qi easier to absorb, increasing your cultivation speed."
"What about the other two?"
"You've heard of bloodline suppression and purity correct?
I nodded.
"Bloodline awakening is the activation of the divine blood of your ancestors. You can easily suppress those with less pure blood than your own and can also suppress beasts with a similar strength to you. Different bloodlines are more suited to different things. For example the people of the Long clan who awaken their bloodline gain a body that is almost as hard as dragon scales. Your Baek clan, the descendents of the white tiger, are masters of combat. You usually gain a sixth sense that can detect even the slightest hints of bloodlust or hostility, an almost impossibly fast reflex and an unmatched battle prowess."
"And about the last thing, a bloodline tribulation won't stop until it strikes the person awakening their bloodline. It will destroy anything in its way before stopping. I've wasted too much of your time. Start circulating your qi to purify your bloodline while the tribulation is still affecting you to maximize your gains."
"Alright."
If everything master said was true then I'd better hurry. Still in the lotus position I circulated my qi through my blood and marrow to raise the purity of my bloodline. As my qi started moving my body began to heat up, I felt like molten metal was running through my veins. The impurities on a cellular level were being burned into nothing, I could feel a strong force welling up inside me. After an hour of intense heat, my blood finally started to cool, I could tell there was a massive change that took place but I wasn't sure what it was.
I opened my eyes and let out a breath of air, I could see my breath due to the difference in temperature, I felt incomparably stronger than before I broke through.
I looked over at master who seemed a bit shorter now, his eyes were wide looking at me.
"Am I that different?"
"You'll just have to see for yourself."
I was a little confused but not too worried. Master left without saying anything else. I was dumbfounded at first but then realized I was at the Nascent Soul realm now and could fly by myself. It took me a second to get the hang of it as I had never learned how to do this before. After a minute of trial and error I could finally fly!
This opened up many possibilities in combat that I couldn't pull off before.
I was a few miles away from my room so it would take a few steps to get back. I stepped in the void and traveled a little more than a mile in a single step, a few steps later and I was back in my room. I had a mirror in my room so I decided to see the changes for myself.
My eyes had changed from blue to gold, they were glittered with shiny black specks that looked like stars. My hair was still pure white but it had grown a little since I last checked. My two fangs were a little sharper as well. My face hadn't changed that much but my body was different. I was now about 1.8 meters tall. My body used to be thin and childlike, now my muscles had more definition. I was still thin and my muscles weren't bulging but they were still noticeable. I was still almost flat as a board though. Overall I was a little more outstanding than before but not much.
My appearance wasn't the only thing that changed though, my senses were infinitely better than they were before. I could hear the blood flowing through my body, which was a little unsettling to be honest, it would take a while to control. I could smell nearly everything as well.
"I need a bath."
I hadn't tested my taste yet but I'm sure it was better too. My sense of touch and sight were probably the most noticeable changes I had. I could feel the change in pressure when something moved by, I could probably walk on a crowded street with my eyes closed and not bump into anybody. I could see the different types of qi in the air now too. I wasn't sure if this was because of my bloodline or the seven colored tribulation. It didn't really matter.
After taking a bath I sat down and started to cultivate again, I couldn't forget about the things I saw during my coma. It was necessary to be as strong as I possible.
