After hearing Null's response, Taz told him that the registry would be available in a week's time, so it would have to wait until after the mission was completed.
Null figured he would head back early and familiarize himself with his powers; after all, it had only been around a few days since he learned to think more akin to his creator.
As of late, he was noticing his increased attunement to his cosmic abilities; the new purple addition to his arsenal was a result of this.
Altogether, he had the violently reactive red/pink energy, the devastating petals of emptiness, and the propulsive violet energy.
Each of the abilities felt like puzzle pieces fitted into a blank four-dimensional figure of complexity. He felt it was the basis of his power and through his understanding of the structure, unraveling its mysterious secrets would be possible.
The meaning behind the cosmos, the infinitely expanding void of chaos and energy, the budding growth to a future impossible to predict.
Those thoughts would have to settle in the depths of his mind for now though; everything he derived from the cosmic figure was his own conjecture as the owner of the power.
On the bed of the hotel room, Null sat in a Sukhasana pose and explored the depths of his psyche. He was drifting away at first, sitting in silence for what seemed like hours when in actuality was only a few minutes.
The longer he sat and reflected on his recent experiences, the more his mind seemed to filter out specific information and feed it to him subconsciously.
The words of the creator sounding once more in his mind, "Open your mind to the endless array of possibilities, let the cosmic energy conjure whatever your mind wills and it will do the rest."
The cosmic aura slivered over Null's body without his command.
Null felt a tug at his body, only it wasn't his body. An unknown force stripped his soul from his body, and with that his body slumped lifelessly on the bed.
At this point in time, the crew had come back from a long day of shopping and making sure their equipment was in tip top shape.
"Null," Taz knocked on the door but to no avail.
"He must be tired. Let's let him rest for tonight."
The crew split off into their separate rooms after bidding each other goodnight.
Taz and Ava settled into their beds as they prepared to go to bed.
"I wonder what that little guy had to have gone through to get so shaken up like that," Ava said from her side of the room.
"It's best not to pry into other peoples' troubles lest you have more of your own. Therefore, I'm going to sleep."
Taz would only do so much to help Null because they were only cooperating temporarily.
'What a brat,' Ava snorted and angrily pulled the sheets over herself.
...............
Despite the peaceful silence coming from Null's room, his soul was going through an unimaginable experience.
His soul was being dragged through a plane where his senses were nonfunctional, meaning he could not see, hear, taste, touch, smell, tell the time, gain his balance, or even differentiate himself from his surroundings.
He felt present everywhere at the moment and then without any prior notice, he was in a blank white space that stretched for a distance he could not perceive.
And as if it were déjà vu, Null saw a strange being hovering just a few meters away from where he was.
"Hello there." It spoke.
Null didn't know how to talk while he was in his ethereal state, but before he could foolishly mime his perturbation, the strange being spoke again.
"I know everything you were, are, and will be. I have created the expanses that you call a universe and ushered in the great marvel that you just so happened to be."
"Now if I couldn't guess your every thought without the slightest problem, why would I bring you here to fill you in on exactly what you were created to do."
'ALL THESE DAMN CRAZIES ARE DRIVING ME INSANE!'
Null had completely snapped at the sign of another messed up individual.
"Does this make you mad?" It looked to Null with a look of contempt.
"Well guess what," he stared upwards, his eyes locking onto something unseen, "I give up. This is your story as it always has been, but after seeing just how unsightly you are, why don't I make it a bit more perilous."
It stepped to the side and behind was something Null would have never thought he'd see again in his life.
Sophina.
'What the fuck is this sick bastard up to.' Null couldn't even descend into madness before he was backed into a corner by another existence beyond his reach.
"You want the answers? I'LL GIVE YOU AN ANSWER YOU WON'T FORGET!" It bellowed as its hand grabbed Sophina's head and held her to Null."
"You will uncover the secrets of the universe with the cosmic authority granted to you by yours truly."
"If it just so happens that you don't meet me through your own means in the next hundre- no ten-thousand years...," It decreed as it had every right to, "... You can say goodbye to everything you love, everything you hate, all matter of this universe will cease to exist starting with this wretched thing."
He tossed Sophina at Null as if she were a ragdoll to which Null caught her and checked to see if she was alright.
However she was truly lifeless like a doll, her soft eyes were left without a trace of soul or spirit.
Snap!
It snapped its fingers and with that, life was breathed into Sophina's body.
"You have ten seconds." It fazed out of existence.
Gasp!
"What is this," her drowsy voice alerted Null.
"Sophina! Are you hurt? Do you feel okay?"
"Null?" She held onto him closely.
"Is this a dream? Did we die? All I remember was this flash of light and it all went blank." Her cute panic distracted Null from it all as he just smiled.
That smile was all he needed to connect the dots and make everything all seem clearer.
What of the burden of his fate.
He was just given the thing he needed most in life in order to become happy. He was finally given hope that there was someone out there for him.
"No, everything is alright. You're just tired is all. Go back to sleep, I'll wake you up when this is all over."
"What do you-," she looked at him with concern.
Snap!
"Time's up. Count down is starting. Good luck, null thing. The sooner you make it the better for me."
Null was sent back into his body through the same sense deprived manner. His thoughts in order from this point forward.
