As William sat atop the pile of bodies he had just slaughtered, the air was thin and his fur cape stayed stagnant. He sported an unconventional armored plating armor that focused on maneuverability rather than pure defense. He was looking through his inventory and was disappointed to see that he didn't get the item he had been farming for.
He exited the cave and began walking along a trail of dirt. To the east was a giant cliff that had a ginormous mushroom that had millions of elven inhabitants living inside of it.
William walked over to the water and started at his reflection. He had black hair and red eyes. His skin was a bit tanned and his hair was long and messy. He sighed stood back up and continued walking along the path until he saw the hero's party fighting the demon king.
"What the fuck?" William rushed over and approached them.
The hero's party consisted of a mage named Sennia. She had long blond hair and a dark mage robe. Then there was Julia, the archer. She had long red hair that was tied back in a ponytail and a curvy body. Then there was Vince who was a barbarian. He was big, brolic, but was nice. His hair was short and blonde, and he wore large, heavy-duty armor.
Finally, there was the leader of the group, Lurial Kyary, William's brother. He had long, silky black hair. His eyes were a deep purple and he wore a leather suit and weilded a greatsword. He looked much like William but was taller and had a benevolent aura around him.
William watched as the hero's party fight the demon king. Their chemistry and way of battle were good and seemed to be working but something was off. The demon king's mana levels were increasing by the second. It got to the point where the only ones who could stand in the general vicinity was Lurial, Vince, and William. But even Lurial and William were having trouble standing up straight.
The demon king laughed hysterically as he backed up and looked up at the sky in glee. He had a huge smile plastered across his face as the sky turned blood red and massive eyes appeared. The pupils stared at the hero's party. William jumped down and helped Lurial stand up.
"This mother fucker..." William said under his breath as a black flame engulfed the demon king.
"Go!" Lurial cried and charged forward. William and Vince followed close behind as all three of them were teleported to the demon king's lair which stayed afloat above the sea.
They encircled the demon king as they faced off in an open yard of limestone and pillars which looked like overgrown ruins. Vince charged in first, breaking the demon king's defense which prompts Lurial to swoop in and slice the demon king's achilles tendons. William jumped down and sliced the demon king's arm off with only a dagger.
The demon king roared in pain as what looked to be dark eyes growing form his wounds. Vince immediately wacked him in the head with a massive hammer and Lurial decapitates him. William dashes and gouges his heart out and crushes it in his hands.
The demon king laid on the ground in the pool of blood, barely even breathing. He drew what looked to be a summoning circle with his own blood. William tried to attack but Lurial stops him.
The demon king summons a young yet mature looking girl with very attractive features. She had a curvy body and pale skin. She wore a well-fit leather suit and combat boots. Her eyes were a piercing crimson and her hair was an albino white. Her horns emanated demonic energy as she glared at William.
She knew he felt the final blow, she knew who killed her father.
"Please...one of you look after my daughter..." The demon king dies and his daughter desperately tries to revive him. She uses all kind soft healing spells and resurrection spells, even trying a necromancy spell and even that doesn't work.
With tears of hatred and pain flowing down her face, she turned and faced the three men. She got up and charged towards William, ready to deal a killing blow. Lurial jumps in and protects his brother, but in the process was stabbed through the heart. His body went limp and fell. William caught him before he could hit the ground though.
"Lurial!" William cried out as he knelt down beside Lurial who was bleeding out.
"What have you done?!" Vince yelled with a booming voice as he stepped towards the demon king's daughter but William held his hand out.
"No. We killed her father, this is what we deserve... But still..." Tears fall down William's face as he held his brother's bloody hand in his hands as he died slowly.
"William..." Lurial managed to say.
"Shut up, don't talk!" William cried.
"Please William, take care of his daughter. In honor of the warrior who was the demon king. Please..." Lurial's heart finally stops and William silently sobs over his brother's body.
A week later, they held a funeral for Lurial. Basically every high ranking official had attended. Even enemy leaders from different countries had attended to pay their respects. But then William stepped onto the stage and readied his speech. But no one knew who he was, he seemed like a nobody. They looked quite annoyed that a nobody was attending and speaking at Lurial's funeral.
William leaned against the pulpit as he covered his face with his arms. He wore a black hoodie and sweatpants, clearly depressed at the whole ordeal. He sobbed silently as he tried to muster up the courage to speak.
"Who is this guy?" One of the country officials blurted. Vince then stood up angrily.
"How dare speak that way to him!" Vince yelled.
"Aye calm down, I'm sure it was just a mistake." Julia told him in a soft and quiet voice, still mourning over the death of her comrade.
"No! Because I will not tolerate such disrespect to a man like William Kyary!" Vince yelled and stomped his foot into the ground. The attendees went silent as he spoke his name.
"Kyary?" The audience was baffled at this.
"You heard me! You will not disrespect a member of the Kyary family! Disrespecting William means disrespecting Lurial and their entire bloodline! I will not sit around and watch such arrogance! Show this man respect, and show his brother respect!"
Everyone was silent as they watched Vince scold them. William sighed and straightened his posture. He clears his throat and begins speaking.
"Lurial was a great brother, an even better friend, and a hero. We may have had our differences but that doesn't change the fact that I loved him. To see him die was...it was tough, I haven't had to go through that pain in a long time. I um...may he rest in peace and good night everyone." William walks off stage and leaves the venue immediately.
Waiting outside of the church was the demon king's daughter. The two of them left and went back to William's home.
William sat silently in a chair, laying his head down on the table. The demon king's daughter watched from afar on the couch. She soon stood up and approached him.
"I believe it's time that we formally introduce ourselves." She told him.
"My name is Ifrit Hundel, daughter of the demon king. What is your name, mortal?"
"My name is William Kyary." William told her.
"William? Do you perhaps have a contract with the demon general of greed?" Ifrit asked him.
"Yes, I do." William answers.
"I see." Ifrit sits back down and swings her feet like a kid. William lays his head down on his arms and on the table. He sat there silently until he fell asleep.
