Alexander charged towards the exhausted General Shingen to try and finish him off.
However, he immediately changed his mind upon sensing danger.
General Shingen's body started to emit white vapor and random black stripes appeared all over his body.
A skill!
Alexander immediately recognized that General Shingen used a skill. Helena herself also had skills so he knew what skills looked like.
Alarm bells rang inside Alexander's head as he immediately retreated and assumed his best defensive stance.
He knew that skills drain stamina at a very fast rate after observing his own General Helena so as long as he can survive General Shingen's attacks while his buff skill is active, then he will have his chance to win.
General Shingen charged at Alexander with white vapor emitting from his body.
*CLANG*
After the clash, Alexander was sent sliding a few meters back and his hands were shaking due to the unbelievable power General Shingen had right now.
"Calm down Alexander, it's ok, just focus…"
Alexander took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. He then resumed his poker face and laser focus.
*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*
General Shingen didn't let any time go to waste as he attacked Alexander again with different combinations.
"Kuhahkk…"
Alexander couldn't keep up the poker face anymore as he spits out blood due to the heavy and consecutive attacks from General Shingen.
Still, the laser focus was there and he wasn't panicking at all.
*BANG*
Unfortunately, although Alexander was successfully blocking each attack, the attacks were very heavy and he was sent flying by a kick from General Shingen.
Alexander struggled to get up from the ground as General Shingen approached him with a wide smile on his face.
"You gave me my toughest fight in the past five years and for that, I respect you, Battalion Commander Alexander Lionheart. However, I shall take the victory."
"Tch…Is this it for me?"
Alexander didn't want to give up and he believed that he could still fight as long as he could get up but it seemed like he wouldn't be able to get up fast enough due to the damage his body sustained.
"Kuaahhkk!"
As Alexander was trying desperately to get up, he heard the sounds of someone spitting blood.
He quickly looked at General Shingen and smiled widely after seeing his pathetic kneeling figure.
"So you're on the verge too huh?"
Alexander thought to himself as he successfully got up at the same time as General Shingen
"Fuck…This lad is indeed a bit tough!"
General Shingen cursed after failing to defeat Alexander within the time limit of his [Tiger Might] skill.
The soldiers felt their hearts burning with passion after seeing the desperate struggle between the two determined military leaders.
Resonance City's soldiers' respect for their battalion commander grew again after seeing him hold his ground against a stronger and more experienced opponent through sheer toughness and willpower.
Meanwhile, Although Geraint and Helena were slightly anxious about the results of the duel between Alexander and General Shingen, they were very happy to see the strength of their right-hand men.
"Prepare yourself Battalion Commander Alexander! HAAAAAAHH!!"
"Let's end this, General Shingen! HAAAAAAHH!"
…
...
...
One Terravallean soldier and One Resonance City soldier walked side by side as they chatted while carrying healing supplies.
"Uaahhh! Who would've thought that the fight would end like that!"
"Yeah…I expected our General Shingen to win after winning every exchange since the beginning, who would've thought that the fight would end in a draw? My horizons expanded again thanks to Battalion Commander Alexander."
"Indeed, it seems that we need to improve our mentalities as well to stand a chance against stronger opponents…"
The two soldiers chatted merrily as if they'd been close friends for a few years now.
After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at the training fields and handed over their healing supplies to the medics who were taking care of the unconscious Alexander and General Shingen.
Helena and Geraint stood side by side as they looked at their unconscious right-hand men in regret.
"You got lucky again, General Helena! I would have taught you a lesson if these two didn't lose consciousness!"
Geraint said
"Hmmph! You really love talking big, don't you? I would've sent you flying again if it weren't for these two!"
Helena retorted.
The two of them decided to postpone their fight because they wanted General Shingen and Alexander to watch their fight.
These two were their target audience and if they were not conscious to watch, then it would be pointless for the two of them to duel.
The other battalion commanders and generals were still too low-level to get any insights from their battle.
"Don't worry young general! Two years from now there will be a competition between strong warriors in the capital of the tier 1 Pheador Kingdom."
"The winner of that tournament will not only obtain huge benefits for the kingdom that they're representing but also obtain huge benefits for themselves."
"Let's settle this in that competition!"
Grand Marshal Geraint said as he returned back to his camp.
Helena merely snorted in acknowledgment. This was the first time she heard about the competition and thinking about fighting lots of strong warriors there made her heart beat faster in excitement.
After a few days of hellish training, fun mock wars, skirmishes, and duels, the joint military exercise between the two allied armies finally came to an end.
