[Alert: The system recognizes Orion Gail as a proficient researcher of power artifacts. The user should learn more of them from Researcher Orion Gail.]
Pleased at a start of completing the 'Get Stronger' quest, Daron was quite surprised that the system also gave a recognition alert to Mr. Gail. It hadn't when he met him yesterday, only after he had explained about physiques and saw him working to gain information on a power artifact did it give him recognition. Not only that, but it said he was a proficient researcher of power artifacts. This time, however, there was no mention of the Maken. This gave more mystery to Director Aaron in Daron's mind.
"Thank you for your advice, Mr. Gail. By any chance, would you mind telling me a little about what you've been working on with that power artifact?" Daron asked.
Mr. Gail paused for a moment, looking Daron up and down. "Well, I suppose I see no harm in telling you a few things. Let's go back to my desk."
Walking back over to the desk, Mr. Gail sat down and picked up the few strange tools he had been using before.
"Power artifacts, obviously, give us unnatural power. Yet, who made them? Why make them? I don't care much for these questions, I care more for the how. I don't ever think we'll be truly able to replicate them. Perhaps the species that made them could see something in the universe we simply can not perceive. Something like dark matter or energy. But, this doesn't mean we can learn nothing from them. I've had the chance to study a few used power artifacts before. Unused ones are more difficult. It would have to be one with a special condition for me to be able to study it. But, it's unlikely someone would want to give that away." Mr. Gail started.
This last line Mr. Gail said had surged even more questions about Director Aaron into his mind. He knew that the tablet was a special condition artifact, and though he already had an ability domain, it wouldn't make sense for him to just give something like that away. Then the note he had sent made Daron start to think about just who Director Aaron was and what had happened to him in the past.
Mr. Gail continued, "Used power artifacts you might think have no power left, but you'd be mistaken. At least, the ones that stick around. They can be powered again, but though I know that, I don't know how to. Enough energy could do the job, but it wouldn't be quite the same either. Come here, place your hand on the artifact."
Mr. Gail moved the artifact towards Daron. Placing his hand on the artifact, Mr. Gail explained a concept to Daron.
"Physique energy can interact with used physique power artifacts in a strange manner. Try to inject your energy into it."
Focusing his energy, he urged it to his hand and tried to inject it into the object. Typically, physique energy would not be able to escape the body, but Daron felt as though the resistance associated with that fact wasn't there. Before it escaped his body, he had gotten a notification.
[Physique energy is about to leave the body. Would you like to allow this?]
[Y/N]
Clicking yes, the energy moved over the power artifact.
"See, physique energy can escape from the body, but it's best not to do this often. Soon, you'll feel a pulling force on your energy. I want you to resist it, but not completely. Just slow it."
As soon as Mr. Gail finished that sentence, Daron could feel a strong force start pulling his energy. Slowing it, Daron realized it was a lot more difficult to slow it than normal, but thanks to his practice of unlocking his limbs, he had found it easier than it should have been. As a minute passed, the pulling force had stopped, and the energy went back into Daron's body. A few notifications had appeared.

Feeling the changes in his body and looking at the notifications, Daron's eyes widened.
"From your look, I can tell you know what happened. Now, this effect only happens the first time you do this. It'll take a few more artifacts for something like that to happen again. But you see, the energy in this artifact hasn't been used at all in the process. Your energy has already reacted to the energy in this artifact now, though, hence why the same artifact can't be used again and again. I'm looking for a way to actually use the remaining power in these used artifacts to improve physiques. I feel I'm getting close, but I'm not entirely sure. If I can understand the power source a little more of these artifacts, I'm sure I can get there. But these artifacts are known to be quite unbreakable with our current tools. Of course, our tools to do with power artifacts have been getting better and better, just not better enough. Anyways, if you do ever run across used physique power artifacts, keep me in mind, will you? Now..." The bell rang for the period to start. "Let's take attendance, shall we?"
Going to his seat, Daron sat and waited for attendance to complete. With a way to continue forward, he would do his best to be the strongest he could be for the competition. He wondered how far he could get in three days now that he had his system. Looking at the booklet Mr. Gail had given, he also wondered how the system would affect his learning speed of the new technique.
Being in the Physique Power class for four years, the two techniques had gotten him quite far already. Mr. Gail had to teach everyone different techniques for their own special physiques. However, even Daron had fewer techniques than most in the class with him. This was due to the fact that his physique and techniques were already top-notch for where he was. Mr. Gail felt there was no need to teach him any further techniques, but made sure to answer any questions Daron may have had to the fullest.
Though Daron didn't ask many questions, whenever he did, Mr. Gail was pleased with all of the ones he did ask. He knew Daron was a smart kid with a remarkable life ahead of him if he could get more than just a physique. In the last two days, he was ecstatic with the progress and questions that Daron had asked. Mr. Gail knew that Daron's character would mean he never would've wanted to be in the competition, but even so, he chose him because he thought that he was truly the best option. Daron's seeming dedication to progress in the few days before the competition gave Mr. Gail the proof he needed that he had made the right decision. Even opening up his bookshelf to give a technique to Daron.
As Mr. Gail watched Daron leave for the day, the only thing on his mind was the progress Daron had made in just one day.
"It seems too fast. I wonder how fast you'll be able to learn that new technique, Daron. I have a feeling you'll leave me impressed. After all, there's still a month left after the competition. Blow me away, boy. I know you can do it." Mr. Gail looked at the power artifact on his desk. "Now, where was I?"
