Chereads / Grand Overlord / Chapter 3 - Dark Savior

Chapter 3 - Dark Savior

[Day 2]

[Event: A Kidnapped Dark Queen]

I looked at myself in the mirror and finished getting ready for today. "System, what are my Daily Tasks for today?"

[Obtaining tasks....]

[Tasks Obtained]

{Torture a Prisoner: +100 Astral Dollars}

{Talk to Aponshe: Bond Increase}

{Use the Training Grounds: +50% to all stats}

I looked at the digital interface in front of me and nodded. I closed the interface and walked out of my bathroom. I made my way out of my room then bumped into Aponshe. I looked at her and noticed her loyal smile. She seemed to always have such a welcoming and pleasant expression on her face around me.

"Master~ Good morning!~" Aponshe bowed toward me.

I smiled at her and rubbed her head. I noticed her elven ears wiggle with pleasure. "Good morning, Aponshe. May I ask why you were just standing in front of my door?"

"Because I want to get the day started with you, Master. And...I missed you." Aponshe said and looked up at me with a gentle smile.

Aponshe was a bit obsessed with me, but I didn't mind it at all. She was my Dark Servant and an extremely loyal one at that. She was extremely beautiful too so I was lucky to even have her at my side for any use I could think of.

"If you missed me that much, you should've just slept with me." I said and caressed her cheek.

[Daily Task Complete: Talk to Aponshe]

[Aponshe's Bond Meter rose to 30%]

"Master...You'll really let me sleep with you..?" Aponshe asked and got even closer.

I nodded and chuckled softly. "I will..."

Aponshe spaced out as she stared at me lovingly. She couldn't handle the thought of sleeping with me as it was too pleasant for her to think about. I watched her then smiled and gently moved her aside.

"Let's go, we have tasks to get done before I get on with my quests." I said.

Aponshe woke up from her trance then looked at me and hurried after me. "Coming!"

I walked toward the prison and noticed Dahlia was asleep on the floor. I walked toward her cell and knocked on the cell door. She woke up and looked up at me. She stood up and walked toward the cell.

{Dahlia's Mental Endurance: 90}

"Hm? How did it lower?" I asked.

"Even when you don't torture your prisoners, just being here drains their mental endurance. She doesn't seem combative anymore. You may be able to corrupt her with how low her mental endurance is." Aponshe said and held her arms.

"How do I do that? I know I need souls to complete such an action, but as far as corruption, how do I perform a task?" I asked.

"Bring her to the Corruption Altar." Aponshe said and smiled at me.

I nodded and opened her cell then grabbed her arm then began to lead her to the Corruption Altar. She wasn't resisting at all, nor did she speak out of turn.

"All prisoners who are corrupted are known as Fallen Heroes. Fallen Heroes are far stronger than Normal and Elite Heroes, but fall short under Legendary and Grand Heroes. They are also boosted by your Dark Influence. They can never refuse or disobey any order you give them." Aponshe explained.

"So are you a Fallen Hero?" I asked.

Aponshe laughed and waved her hand at me. "You're such a comedian, Master!~ No I am naturally evil. I've always hated the Heavenly Order. Those Gods and Goddesses...They believe they are superior. They believe they are right! Those foolish mortals are only playing right into their hands."

I looked at Aponshe and rose an eyebrow. I looked ahead and noticed we made it to the Corruption Altar. Aponshe grabbed Dahlia and brought her to the Corruption Chamber then secured her inside. I watched and crossed my arms.

"It is ready for you, Master~" Aponshe said and looked at me.

[Do you wish to Corrupt Dahlia into a Fallen Mercenary?]

"Of course." I answered.

[Souls Required: 500]

[Remaining Souls: 800]

I used 500 Souls to power up my Corruption Magic and walked toward the Device in front of me then placed my hand on it. The chambers Dahlia was kept inside shined brightly then a burst of corrupt energy surrounded the chambers. The corruption process started and I could see all the light energy turn into dark energy.

Once the process was finished, the chambers deactivated then Dahlia's new appearance was shown. Not much changed about her other than her skin becoming ivory white, her eyes shined a blood red, and her clothes were more worn and torn.

Dahlia stepped out of the chambers and her shackles broke off. She looked at me and her eyes shined. She bowed toward me. "Master, I am yours to use."

Aponshe smirked and held her arms. "Your first Fallen Hero..~"

[Achievement Unlocked: Corrupted one Prisoner]

[Reward: 20 Grand Tokens]

[Daily Task Complete: Torture A Prisoner]

[Reward: 100 Astral Dollars]

"Alright, we have one last thing to do before we head out." I said.

"That being?" Aponshe asked and tilted her head.

"We should make use of the Training Grounds. I want to see what Dahlia can do on the battlefield." I said.

Aponshe looked at Dahlia then smiled. "Alright. I'm quite curious as well, so I'm willing to see what she can do."

Aponshe began to lead us outside the castle and toward the Training Grounds. Dahlia looked around and noticed how empty my domain was. I was also reminded on how empty everything looked. The only beautiful thing about the citadel was the beautiful blue sky.

We made it to the Training Grounds and looked around. It was filled with training equipment and training dummies. There was an older man who seemed to be the instructor.

The man had short white hair, pale red eyes, and trimmed facial hair. He wore a blue shirt, black pants that had two belts on them, brown boots, and a brown coat that also had two belts and fur along the hood. He wielded a double bladed spear.

"Ahh, Sir Crux!~ You seem to have come help us?" Aponshe asked and smiled at him.

Crux nodded and stuck the blade of his spear into the ground. "Might as well. This retired Overlord could help your Master get back into shape."

'Retired Overlord..? Was he my mentor? He seems like he's way older than us so he might be my teacher..' I thought to myself.

"Today we're looking to boost our new Fallen Hero, Dahlia." Aponshe said.

Crux looked at Dahlia and studied her. "Hm. Her potential is great. I can work with that. Alright, let's get started."

Dahlia walked forward and began to train with Crux. I watched them and noticed how easily Dahlia lost to Crux in a matter of seconds. Even though she lost she still got the boosts. Dahlia stood up and looked at me. I shrugged and smiled.

[Dahlia's Stats Increased!]

{Name: Dahlia (LV. 1)}

"Remember these boosts are only lasting for 24 Hours. So when the next day arrives, her stats will return to normal. That's why her Strength didn't rank up from F to D. It's temporary." Aponshe said and crossed her arms.

[Daily Task Complete: Use the Training Grounds]

[Reward: +50% Boost to all stats]

{Name: Raiyu (LV. 2)}

Strength: D {75}

Endurance: D {44}

Dexterity: D {30}

Agility: D {30}

Magic: F {26}

Intelligence: D {30}

Power Level: D {39}

After the training session, we went to the strategy room and Aponshe looked through her list. She noticed an Event happening at a church.

"A Kidnapped Dark Queen..? Ahh, it seems that the Heavenly Order has a female Overlord kidnapped. Do you think you're up for the challenge, Master?" Aponshe asked and looked at me.

"Where is she being held?" I asked.

"A church named Silverton Church. It's full of heroes like Priestesses, Bishops, Angels, and a Paladin even helps guard the church. They all wield the light element...we are rather weak to the Light Element, however, with your power we can overcome that." Aponshe said.

"How?" I asked.

"By changing the Nature of our Element, we can change our advantages and weaknesses. Here's a chart explaining the advantages and weaknesses of the different Elemental Energies and Natures." Aponshe said.

[Elemental Advantages/Weaknesses]

{Fire is stronger than Earth, but weak to Water}

{Water is stronger than Fire, but weak to Lightning}

{Lightning is stronger than Water, but weak to Earth}

{Earth is stronger than Lightning, but weak to Fire}

{Light is stronger than Darkness, but also weak against Darkness}

{Darkness is stronger than Light, but also weak to Light}

{Null Element has no advantage or weakness}

{Ice Element has the same advantage/weakness as Water}

{Wind is stronger than Water, but weak to Fire}

"Alright, so how can I go about changing my element?" I asked.

"With your system of course. Changing your element is free of change and you can do it at any time, but keep in mind it also changes the element of your magic as well." Aponshe said.

[Would you like to change your element?]

I walked over to Aponshe and looked at her clipboard then looked at the map on the table. I nodded to myself and crossed my arms. "Yes."

[To what?]

"Change my element to the Lightning Element." I said.

[Changing Element...]

[Change successful!]

"Like yesterday, here are your quests for the day~" Aponshe said and smiled me.

[Quests]

{Invade Silverton Church: +100 Souls}

{Destroy The Goddess Statue: +150 Souls}

{Kill 5 Bishops: +250 Souls}

I nodded and watched the portal open then watched Aponshe walk toward the portal. Dahlia and I followed her then we stepped into the portal. I summoned the rest of my Goblins and Imps and they awaited my orders.

Aponshe looked through her orb and scanned the area of the church. She noticed that the Bishops and Priestesses were setting traps and enhancement fields in their outposts. "Hmph...Seems like they are preparing for us. Let us foil their plans."

"Charge." I commanded.

My army ran toward the enemy outposts and engaged in battle against the Church. The Priestesses all activated their Holy Field to try and weaken us, but we were now the Lightning Element so the field took no effect on us.

I walked forward and summoned a polearm then twirled it around. 'Let the carnage begin..'

I ran forward and slashed my way through the wave of Priestesses and killed each one. I wasn't taking any prisoners this go around. As I ran through the first wave of heroes, a new wave of Bishops came to support. They activated a Shrine and pillars of light formed around the battlefield.

[Tip: Shrines will strengthen all Heroes and weaken your army. Kill or capture the Shrine Maiden to deactivate the Shrine!]

"You believe your Shrine will stop us?" I asked and my eyes shined.

The Bishops ganged up against me and attacked at one with light attacks. I bellowed and discharged electricity from my body, striking the Bishops then I jumped up and came down with a slash, slamming my spear against the ground and striking the Bishops with lightning magic.

[Quest Cleared: Kill 5 Bishops]

[Reward: 250 Souls]

Aponshe dashed forward and blocked a hidden strike from the Shrine Maiden. She grunted as she slid backwards then stomped her foot on the ground, stopping herself.

The woman had fair skin, long brown hair, light gold eyes, and a curvaceous body with medium breasts. She wore a white and red kimono, carried a katana, and had light aura circling her body.

[Scanning Target...]

{Target: Miko Hikomi (LV. 2)}

Strength: F {20}

Endurance: F {29}

Dexterity: F {18}

Agility: F {28}

Magic: D {36}

Intelligence: D {34}

Power Level: D {30}

Dahlia dashed toward Hikomi and bellowed as she slashed at her. Hikomi clashed with Dahlia then the two clashed three more times before pushing each other back. Hikomi fired five orbs of light at Dahlia, but Aponshe protected her with bolts of lightning.

"I won't let you all destroy the Church!" Hikomi bellowed.

[Warning: Hikomi is preparing a Special Move!]

Aponshe grabbed her floating orb and lightning crackled powerfully around her body then she raised her orb in the air then a powerful bolt of lightning struck Hikomi. Hikomi groaned and stumbled back then fell onto one knee. She noticed dark shackles appear on her hands and she looked at me then noticed my sinister smirk.

"You're mine now.." I said and sent her to Astarfall.

[Notice: The Shrine is now deactivated!]

[Warning: Boss Unit Incoming!]

A man walked forward and his golden armor shined. He stared at us and his brown hair turned golden then his eyes shined a light green. "I believe you all have gotten far enough. I know why you're here and I won't allow you all to stop this ritual."

[Scanning Target...]

{Target: Arlon (LV. 3)}

Strength: D {38}

Endurance: F {29}

Dexterity: F {24}

Agility: F {28}

Magic: D {30}

Intelligence: D {37}

Power Level: D {31}

I changed my spear into a sword then walked forward. "If you were smart, you would surrender now. I'm a pretty merciful Overlord, so it would be more beneficial for you to give up."

"As if. Now! Fear the might of the Heavenly Order!" Arlon bellowed and raised his sword to the sky and activated the Goddess Statue.

[Warning: The Goddess Statue is Activated! Arlon's stats are boosted by 50% while this Statue is activated! Destroy the Goddess Statue to weaken Arlon!]

"Let's go! Goblins, Imps! Hold off Arlon!" I commanded.

My monsters rushed over to Arlon and all attacked him at once while Dahlia, Aponshe and I rushed to the Goddess Statue. Arlon easily dealt with my monsters and began to chase us. I looked back and summoned the rest of my slime monstera to slow him down. The slimes used their bodily structures to nullify the first few attacks from Arlon, slowing him down.

Aponshe fired bolts of lightning magic at the Goddess Statue, slowly breaking the Statue. Dahlia slashed at the Goddess Statue and helped Aponshe break the statue. I stopped running and noticed Arlon dashing toward me.

"Enough running!" Arlon bellowed and slashed at me.

I parried his slash then pushed him back then caused a few bolts of lightning to crash down at him, but he dodged them then slashed at me, launching light elemental cutting waves at me. I blocked them and grunted as I took a bit of damage. He appeared behind me at light speeds then slashed at me. One of the remaining slimes jumped in front of the sword and took the strike for me.

I watched and my eyes widened. I watched the slime turn into magic particles. Arlon was also surprised and taken aback from the actions of the slime. I changed my element back to Darkness and my dark aura surrounded my body.

"I mustn't let his sacrifice go to waste." I said then my eyes shined brightly.

Aponshe finally destroyed the Goddess Statue and looked back at me. "Master!"

[Quest Cleared: Destroy the Goddess Statue]

[Reward: 150 Souls]

[Notice: Arlon is weakened!]

"It's just you and me now, Arlon!" I laughed and my dark aura surged powerfully around my body.

A dark mist formed around the battlefield. The mist gave Arlon a sense of hopelessness and he was weakened even further. He braced himself and watched me walk forward.

I dashed toward him and slashed. He blocked the attack and grunted as he slid backwards. I dodged his counter attack then pivoted into a spinning heel kick then used my momentum to perform a spin slash. Arlon groaned as he was struck then tried to counter but, Dahlia tackled him to the ground from behind then Aponshe warped her out of the way of a dark blast.

"Die.." I said and dealt the finishing blow by impaling him through his heart.

[Boss Unit Defeated!]

[Quest Cleared: Invade Silverton Church]

[Reward: 100 Souls]

The mist disappeared and I sighed softly. Aponshe and Dahlia walked toward me. The three of us walked toward the church and walked inside. We noticed a woman chained up to a statue. The woman sensed us and opened her eyes to look at us.

The woman was insanely beautiful just as Aponshe was. She had pale skin, white hair, pale gold eyes, and a sexually attractive build with large breasts. She wore a sexy black and red leotard, black stockings, and her black and red wings were on her lower back as they were used as a waist cape. It was clear that she was a vampire...

Aponshe fired a bolt of magic at the chains and freed the woman then warped her into my arms. "Mission complete."

I looked at the woman and she stared at me then smiled. She closed her eyes and rested. I looked at Dahlia and Aponshe.

"Let us return home." I said.

"Right." Aponshe nodded.
