Five military trucks drove out of the school heading for Ido our post. They headed towards ido outpost.
Onboard the buses were the first year students at narlar high going for their first expendition. Unlike your normal field trip this one was quiet, why? Well hundred students are going, they might be incomplete on the way back. So they do have to be quiet as this may be their last bus ride.

When a new city is being cleared some bandits might want to take advantage of it to lay low and kill the workers to stay hidden in the safe space cleared by the time backup arrives their far gone. So the military isn't only for supervision but protection as clearing a land this big would bring forth many resources and some worker might wanna you know "borrow it".
The students got out of the buses and regrouped with their squad captain. After that they were told to arrange them selves in a five row twenty column set.

I will be overseeing your stay here meaning your in my hands now. I can assure you there are no beasts at the intermediate level so you don't have to worry about being overwhelmed.

Most people opinion to the second suggestion was nil as when they go toore dangerous places in the future their chances of finding variants would be higher so they shouldn't rush and waste resources on a useless ordinary beast.

The first set of people are trying because they don't have to worry about resources and their bored, second think a variant is to scarce to be found and even if found they might not be able to get it first. The third are people from small clans that were sent by big clans with hopes of them become power mages to serve the big clans in the future. Their future is already set and if they were lucky enough to later find a variant it would be claimed by the big clan behind them. They believed they should start trying to get their beast partners here so they can grow together. The last set of ini to say took the bag because he felt like and would later on decide whether to take a beast or not. The main reason most people lost interest was because of the price of this stuff as they believed it was a waste of beast cores.
