It was a pity that he couldn't stay inside and watch what Xavier would be doing. However, he could still wait for him outside and try to guess what had transpired inside.
Xavier took the next steps heavily toward his beloved child, anxiety finally seeping in.
Darica continued to look at her godfather without looking away.
"You have grown thinner!" she complained as soon as the man was right in front of her.
Xavier suddenly gazed down upon hearing that, trying his best to cool himself down enough to not allow him to shed a tear in front of his child.
"Dad is sorry!" that's all he could say when confronting such a child who had become tougher in the five years they had been separated.
"And I forgive you!" Darica sniffled as she bit her lips, affected by what her godfather had just said.
