Chapter 16 - Kiss

As a modern woman who had passed the age of 30, Daisy was not ashamed to admit that she was a virgin and a single dog who haven't even kissed the opposite sex.

Despite not having a boyfriend, she had done her research about all the adults stuffs. Including not only studying but watching videos from many educational websites and experimenting with strange objects that were recommended on ads.

However, she didn't have the courage to experience the real thing herself. Except for holding hands and greedily touching the abs of the male hostesses in bar, she was destined to be dry in her love life.

But now, her time has come! Feeling the huge knot pressed against her stomach, Daisy was filled with excitement and nervousness. She felt a bit timid in her heart, but curiosity and eagerness overwhelmed the tiny bit of emotion.

She looked at Leif, with a shy look on her face as she bit her lower lip, trying to prevent herself from speaking any weird words that would ruin the ambiguous atmosphere. "Leif...do...do you want...?"

She stuttered slightly, feeling a flutter in her stomach and her heart started to race. After being single for more than 30 years, she was finally going to do ' the deed'. If this was not exciting then she didn't know what was.

However, unlike her excitement and anticipation to mate right away, Leif was worried.

He was flustered that he couldn't control his desire/lust in front of his new mate. Even though Daisy accepeted him as his mate, he didn't want to force her to mate with him right away. His father was right, males have to be patient and understanding towards females. He was worried that his excitement would scare her away.

With his free hand, he softly rubbed her messy hair as he whispered above her head, "its okie, daisybug. I can wait for you."

Daisy, who wants to be have sex: "???"

As she felt him patting her head, she rarely felt a sense of loss. Her messy thoughts went quieter and more dull, and she began to reflect on whether she seemed too eager.

Considering that she had known Leif for only three days, it did seem like she was rushing to sleep with a stranger.

She awkwardly curled her little toes and buried her flushed face in Leif's chest, feeling too speechless and ashamed to realize how thirsty she seemed, like a bitch in heat.

Leif didn't understand her messy thoughts. He only thought that she was touched by his words. Watching her curl in his arms, his expression softened with satisfaction and his actions became more gentle and loving.

Daisy suddenly recalled that she had made ginger tea for Leif. She inwardly slapped herself for forgetting about it. She hurriedly moved away from his arms and brought him to the fireplace.

She made him sit down near the warm fire before bringing the ginger tea in a stone bowl.

"Leif, you have to drink this. This is good for your health and it'll keep you warm during this weather."

Leif felt strange as he heard her words. It was the first time someone had ever cared for his health, even though it was impossible for him to be sick.

The strange scent emitting from the bowl made his nose uncomfortable, and he had never heard of ginger tea before.

He hesitantly took a small sip from the bowl and made a face at the strange taste as it entered his mouth. He had never tasted such a bitter drink in his life!!

Daisy stared at her mate, giving him a supportive smile. "This ginger tea has anti-inflammatory and immune system-boosting properties, so it'll protect you from the flu or cold. You must drink it all."

Even though Leif didn't understand her strange words and disgusted the taste of the drink, he could feel her love and care in her gesture and words.

The thought of disappointing her made him set aside his own feelings about the drink and he took another sip, trying his best to hide his dislike.

Daisy stared at his scrunched up face with amusement, wanting to laugh. She could see that he didn't like the taste of the ginger tea, but he still drank it all, which made her heart warm.

There was not much ingredients available in the cave, so she couldn't make the ginger tea sweeter.

After Leif drank the tea, she came forward to take the bowl from his hand, smiling at his grim face. "Do you like it?"

Leif looked at her and nodded without a second thought. If drinking the strange drink made her happy, he could drink it everyday. And with the thought of making her happy, he already felt content.

Daisy felt a bit amused after receiving his response. He clearly disliked the ginger tea, but didn't plan to say it out loud. She didn't understand how she could get such a good man as her mate.

"Do you want more?" She asked casually, with the intention of teasing him.

Leif pursed his lips and remained silent. The aftertaste of the strange drink still remained in his mouth, making him feel extremely uncomfortable. However, he wasn't willing to reject his mate's offer.

"Alright," he managed to squeeze out from his lips, with his eyes still fixed on his mate.

Daisy was helpless and touched by this snake man. "Silly," she mumbled underneath her breath before bending her waist forward and abruptly placing a kiss on his lips. His lips were cold to the touch, making her shiver as she hurriedly moved away.

"That's it, no more for today." Blushing, she ran away to wash the bowl, leaving a dumbstruck snake man behind.

Leif was stunned by the sudden kiss. He couldn't even react for a while, unable to process the soft touch against his lips. He was dumbfounded that she had kissed him for the first time.

When Daisy returned with the washed bowl, he was still sitting silently near the fireplace. She ignored him out of shyness and started to check on the prey that he brought from his hunt.

Leif's beast form was a giant snake, so she didn't doubt his hunting capabilities. She looked at the prey he had brought and quickly realized that it was an Elk.

She began to worry if she could eat its meat since she had never tried an Elk before.

"Leif?"

Leif slowly walked up to her, his thoughts still lingering on the small kiss. Daisy glanced at him and playfully poked his waist with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "what are you thinking about?"

"Kiss." He instantly replied with a calm face.

"Cough, cough!" Daisy didn't expect the snake man to be so direct.

Leif glanced at her flushed cheeks and flustered expressions with a smile, enjoying seeing her vivid emotions.

He crouched down and carried the dead elk to the corner of the cave, where he usually dealt with his food.

Daisy curiously followed him behind, wanting to see how he would deal with the elk.
