Bliss Of A Moment

We were joyed for one glimpse of a miracle, a scene at the beach with a rainbow, tears with our goodbyes and till death do us apart.

Seeing the woman I love lose her hope is like a plate intentionally thrown. I saw what she did but said not me, yet her heart still pleading guilty. Been together for 20 years she's 50, I'm 53. When misunderstanding comes, I never talk back to her, only yes, no, sorry and thank you sweetie. To me, she is my Queen and I am her Knight but at that time I am powerless- me, disappointed not protecting her.

"Sweetie, wake up. I have a story that you need to know." My wife Ellie has been in a coma for about 11 years now. Her heart is weak yet still fighting and beating for us.

"You know, our daughter Lilith started to Draw and I am planning if we should get her a piano lesson or ballet? Ellie, Come on sweetie, I really miss you." Said by his husband Leo. Before Ellie fell into a coma they had a car crash. A week After she gave birth to their child, Leo was so excited that he drank a lot of beer and that day Leo did not realize that he needed to fetch her wife Ellie from the ob gyne. He tried to sober up for 30 minutes and met his wife. 

Everything was a blur to him, everything that has happened was fast. All he can remember was that he lied to her wife, that he is now completely sober. Leo did think everything that happened was his fault. Ellie was a wonderful woman, all she thinks is Leo and Lilith. They have a ton of dreams for their daughter but in just a matter of seconds, their dreams stop. Now, it's been 11 years, and Leo's love for her wife is still the same.

"Sweetie, Lilith is now a grown lady, you must open your eyes now and be with her. Please, I will not stop talking to you nor ask you to wake up. I need you… I miss you Ellie." Leo said while holding Ellie's hand.

Their daughter Lilith is a miracle for them. They've been trying for almost 8 years to make a baby. They've been consulted by a tons of doctors but all of them have the same answer- " I'm Sorry Mr. And Mrs. Velasquez but you can't have a baby."

We were both drunk that night and we made love. We knew that we can't have a baby yet we feel that there is still a missing piece- a baby. After a month Ellie suddenly was not feeling well, and started vomiting. I started to be worried and at the same time I have hopes…that she's pregnant. We consulted it with our friend who's a doctor and yes, were right, we will be having a baby. It is the best day of our lives, we waited and made a lot of dreams for her and when Lilith came, we were speechless. We both cried, we waited for years and almost lost hope, now our precious daughter Lilith is here.

"Dad, Are you crying again? I told you Mom has a 50/50 chance of living. Stop it." Lilith said and his Dad looked at her in disbelief.

Ellie was transferred to their house 5 years ago. She had broken bones and the most crucial part is that she is brain dead. Years and years, Leo still asks for a miracle to come, asking God to heal her wife.

"Lilith, do you even hear yourself? You are your moms miracle, your mom loved you so much! Your mom surely wants to be with us right now, can you understand? Your mom is not here but your mom was there for me and for you that time… can't we fight for her?" Leo said while crying his heart out. Lilith was right, Ellie has a 50/50 chance of living but Leo is ignoring that fact..

At these hard times, a miracle is what Ellie needs. According to the Doctor Ellie's life support is based on a machine, and a person whose brain dead is legally confirmed as dead.

"Sorry Dad, It's just, you've been crying for over a decade and I don't wanna see you devastated again." Lilith was about to leave when his Dad suddenly said,

"Don't say sorry to me, say sorry to your Mother." Leo looked at her daughter's eye and instructed to come close.

Lilith holds her mothers hand and kisses it. " I'm sorry Mom, sorry." She once kissed her mother's hand. When she's about to let go the grip of her mother's hand tightens. She looked at her Dad with confusion. 

"D-Dad, Moms hand" Lilith said while her tears were rushing down her cheeks. 

"Call the Doctor, Go!" Said to her Daughter, But at a split second, Ellie opened her eyes. Ellie is still holding her daughter's hand.

"Li-Lilith, The Blossom." Leo and Lilith were silent, they were shocked. 

"Lilith! Call the Doctor, now!" Lilith hurriedly ran to the phone and called the Doctor. Lilith rushed to her room as she remembered the words her mother said. " Lilith, The Blossom" 

There's a painting in her room when she was little, her Dad said that, the painting is her mothers favorite artwork. She remembered what his father said, the almond blossom is a symbol of eternal true love, unconquerable by death. 

Lilith's emotion feels like a roller coaster, she then feels happy and sad for a moment. A bliss of a second, her mom held her hand, a bliss of the moment her mom called her name. A tear shed into her cheeks, for the first time she felt her mom's presence.

She grabbed the painting from her room's wall and hurriedly gave it to her mom but it was too late, her mom is having a seizure. The Doctor just arrived in time, Lilith was shocked, everyone stopped...

her mother.....

stopped breathing.

Lilith slowly approach her mom, wanting to hear her voice again... How her mother mouthed her name.

"Mom, don't leave us"

"Ma, i love you so much. Please...

Don't leave me for good..

Daddy needs you so bad"

Unconsciously crying on her knees, while holding her mothers hand.
