Olivia's POV:
I was shocked for a while, but I chuckled, knowing that he was only messing with my mind. This was not a romance novel where the male protagonist fell in love with a poor girl and made her his Cinderella.
This was reality, and Mr. Bennett was far from being the hero. "Mr. Bennett, you are a businessman, so anything you do must have a profitable reason. I don't think I will believe that," I said, and he nodded.
"Do you know how much your dad took as a debt?" He asked, and I shook my head in negativity.
"$10,000" He blurted, and my eyes widened in shock. Do you know that feeling you get when a needle is pierced into your heart? I felt like a thousand needles were pierced inside my heart, and my head was in a buzz.
On the day of my wedding, my father had a nervous look. Was he feeling bad because of his debt and also because Mr. Bennett was back in New York?
