Mrs. Long said to Brittany, "This is Rose's daughter who lives in the west of the village. Rose's husband died last year, so they depended on each other for survival."
Mrs. Long's words reminded Brittany that she had seen this little girl and her mother before. Rose was a thin and white woman. No matter who she met, she would always smile ingratiatingly.
Seeing that the little girl was looking at her with her big eyes, looking like she wanted to say something but did not dare to say it, Brittany wiped her hands and walked over. "Is Lily looking for me?"
Lily nodded and said softly, "My mother is sick. She vomited and had diarrhea several times in the afternoon and can't get up from the bed now."
"Just now, Mrs. Queena said that you know how to treat patients and asked me to come and find you."
Mrs. Long explained, "Rose is our neighbor Mrs. Queena's niece. Sometimes, she would go over to visit the mother and daughter."
