Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: I never thought about getting back together with you.

"Achen, let's have lunch together?"

Wen Wan wore a white dress, graceful and delicate as her name suggested.

"No," he rejected coldly, too lazy to even glance her way.

Thus, he didn't see the hurt in Wen Wan's eyes, but she quickly smiled again, "I heard you went on a blind date last night, that means you're ready to start a new life, right?"

Mo Chen finally lifted his gaze to Wen Wan, his voice deep and chilly, "Don't waste your time on me."

"I want to!" Wen Wan bit her lip, showing her reluctance.

The man continued working on his documents, responding indifferently, "Whatever."

The intercom rang again.

His slender fingers pressed the answer button, a trembling voice came from the other end, "President Mo, Qiao... Miss Qiao is here."

"Let her in."

Miss Qiao?

While Wen Wan was curious about who this Miss Qiao was, a cool yet soft voice came from behind her.

"Wen Wan, how can you be so useless? I left you that position for two years, and you still haven't made any progress."

Qiao Ruoxin carried a thermal food container to the visitor's area, placed it on the coffee table, smoothed her skirt, and sat down elegantly on the sofa.

This voice...

Wen Wan turned around in shock and sure enough, she saw the little enchantress who had vanished for two years!

"Qiao Ruoxin! You're back!"

She smiled slightly, her eyes seemingly innocent, "Yeah, I'm back, so you can leave now. Don't bother my ex-boyfriend."

Wen Wan looked back at the man behind the desk, her emotions somewhat out of control, "Mo Chen! Don't tell me you're still hung up on her!"

"Get out."

The two frosty words chilled Wen Wan's heart, "She's not suitable for you at all, she will definitely disappoint you again, I promise."

Mo Chen frowned, a flash of displeasure swept through his dark eyes, but he remained silent.

Wen Wan had already turned around and left in a huff.

After the sound of the door closing, the office returned to silence, a silence that felt somewhat ominous.

Qiao Ruoxin took out the lunch she had prepared from the thermal container, arranging everything neatly.

"Come and eat."

Mo Chen rose from his desk and walked over to the sofa in the visitor's area where he sat opposite her.

Qiao Ruoxin handed him the chopsticks, "Do you believe what Wen Wan said?"

"What do you think?" he scoffed.

"You must believe it, otherwise you wouldn't be silent. It hurts," she said, feeling a sour ache in her heart.

Mo Chen took the chopsticks, looking at the four dishes and one soup in front of him, all of which were exquisite and made with effort, obviously taking a lot of time.

He tasted one of the dishes and found it surprisingly good.

He looked up at Qiao Ruoxin's expectant eyes and said coldly, "Not bad."

"This time, trust me, I'll behave," she said seriously, gazing at the handsome face of the man opposite her.

Mo Chen continued to eat, still detached and indifferent, "I never thought about getting back together with you."

Qiao Ruoxin felt as if her heart cracked open an inch, yet she still smiled sweetly, "Whether you want to is up to you, whether I pursue you is my business, nobody has the right to interfere with anyone else, right?"

The man said nothing, quietly continuing his meal, after all, he was a man of few words, whether dining or resting.

The wound was too deep, and even though it had healed, the rotten flesh inside hadn't been completely cleansed.

If it happened a second time, he might really consider becoming a monk.

Qiao Ruoxin kept watching him eat, the sadder she felt. Had he been eating properly in these two years? Eating his meals as if he was taking medicine, without a hint of appetite.

"Aren't you eating?" Mo Chen suddenly looked at her.

She paused slightly, "I've already eaten. You go ahead, and try the soup too, I've simmered it for three hours."
