"Just passing by and thirsty for a drink," the man's voice responded frostily, devoid of any warmth or fluctuation.
"Perhaps, you should seek somewhere else. There's nothing here," Qing Zhu said warily, her gaze fixed on the window. She feared what would happen if the man outside decided to barge in.
"I truly am just passing by, and merely wish for some water," the man remained adamant.
"Please leave and seek elsewhere. Perhaps you'll even find a generous family who would offer you a meal. There's nothing here," Qing Zhu's voice grew colder. What kind of person would believe her and stop asking for water? Clearly, the man doesn't take her word for it.
