"Thank you, Mom," Qin Xue thanked her mother.
"Come here, sweetheart." Qin Xue reached out to her two children.
"Well done. Did you behave well for your grandpa and grandma last night?" Qin Xue asked her child in her arms.
Yu Ze, shaking his head, looked at his mother. He had behaved very well.
"Good kids. Mom and Dad have to go out for a bit. Be good at home and don't bother Grandpa and Grandma. When we're back, we'll bring you something to eat."
Qin Xue gently said to her children.
When she was a child and her grandma was out, her grandma would tell her, "Qin Xue, stay at home and be good. When I get back, I'll bring you something interesting, do you hear?"
Now she uses this same phrase to coax her kids into behaving. After saying it, she found herself chuckling.
Maybe every adult thinks that all a child's heart cares about is eating.
When she thought of her grandparents, she wondered how they were doing now.
