Seeing Ivy Aretha staring at him blankly with wide, glittering eyes in silence, Michael Gordon leaned down and kissed her forehead, whispering softly, "So much, so very much."
Ivy stiffened, her mind stuttering over his words. So much love?
"I like big brother, so much, so very much!"
The childish feminine voice seemed serious and earnest, as if it came from her own throat. Ivy couldn't remember when those words were uttered. Her hand instinctively moved to her lips, a sense of panic roaring inside her chest. The following moment, she asked Michael, "Michael, did we know each other before?"
On second thought, Ivy realized that she had phrased it wrong, so she hurriedly added, "No, I mean, did we know each other when we were very little?"
