Willy Smith still reached out and pulled Chani Gordon aside, then looked at Owen Hayes and said, "I think you might have misunderstood something."
After a pause, Willy Smith went straight to the point, "You couldn't possibly be misunderstanding that there's something between Chani and me, could you?"

These three words stabbed into Owen Hayes' chest like a knife: "Whether there is something between you two, you know very well. Since I'm here, let's settle this once and for all. If you lose, you will sever all ties with Chani!"

Why should who she associates with be decided by a fight between you two?
Chani Gordon was almost so angry she could turn her back, "Owen Hayes, what are you saying? Who I associate with, why should it be decided by you guys fighting? If you want to fight, fight with me. Don't pick on the easy targets!"
