One woman raising a child alone, without anyone to lend a hand for anything, would have a much lighter burden if there were a man by her side.
She vaguely remembered that Belinda had once had a high fever when she was two years old, in the early morning hours, and it was the first time Camila, at a loss in such a situation, had panicked, and Belinda nearly developed pneumonia from the delayed hospital visit. Had there been a man there, it wouldn't have happened like that.
