Ethan almost choked when he saw Anthony Davis's serious face and couldn't help believing that he wasn't lying.
But, for his mum to actually throw herself at someone... how could that be possible, unless she were sick.

Ethan didn't know how to respond, so he quickly made an excuse, "My mum's burning up. I... I need to rush her to the doctor."
After saying that, he carried Mrs. Herd away at a swift pace.
Watching Ethan's retreating figure, Anthony Davis knit his brows tightly.
Once Ethan had carried Mrs. Herd a good distance away, he said, "Mum, stop pretending; there's no one around."
