Mrs. Herd was at a loss for words, staring at Scarlett Glenn with a shocked expression.
Mrs. Herd reached out to touch Scarlett Glenn's forehead. "Scarlett, do you have a fever?"
Scarlett Glenn shook her head. "Of course not?"
"You must not have woken up fully from last night."
Scarlett Glenn laughed and said, "Aunt, I'm quite serious!"
Mrs. Herd, with a stern face, said, "So you think I'm being silly?"
Scarlett Glenn thought Mrs. Herd was getting angry and quickly shook her head. "No, why would you think that?"
Mrs. Herd pinched Scarlett Glenn's cheek and said, "My silly daughter, still thinking you're my niece. You really have some ideas. My aspirations are much higher, you know. I intend to be your mum, and between being your mum and your aunt, which one do you think I'd choose?"
Scarlett Glenn: "..."
Mrs. Herd spoke earnestly, "Compared to being your aunt, I'd much rather be your mum!"
