The old lady courteously held back, "It's almost time for dinner. Why don't you stay and join us for dinner tonight?"
Mrs. Philip of course wanted to refuse. The Davis family was having a reunion tonight; what place did they have staying here?
But Shirley preemptively said, "Sure, thank you Grandma Davis. I haven't seen you in so long, I really miss you and don't want to leave so early. Grandma, let's stay."
Scarlett Glenn rolled her eyes on the side, scoffing... Her act was not convincing at all. Stay if you want, just to see what you're up to.
