Ethan Herd's face was gloomy, and he crushed a glass of water that Scarlett Glenn had poured for him, injuring his palm. Scarlett Glenn took out the band-aids she usually prepared and helped Ethan clean up the wound and stick it on.
Scarlett Glenn asked with a smile, "Do you feel angry because you think you've been cuckolded?"
Ethan lifted his head, looked at her, and said, "I shouldn't let you go through this. I can protect you better."
His expression and voice were unprecedentedly serious.
Scarlett Glenn raised the corner of her mouth and affectionately bumped noses with Ethan: "It's okay, I don't mind, so don't take it to heart."
Scarlett Glenn was not the type of person who would only stand behind a man. Even if she relied on him, she didn't want to lose her ability to survive.
"I do care, I do care..." Ethan repeated twice.
It was not only caring, but pain that Ethan felt. The more indifferent Scarlett Glenn was, the more pain he felt.
