"Bravo..." Matilda Jenkins, standing behind Scarlett Glenn, couldn't help but cheer, her hands clapping together; her eyes all but glowing with admiration as she looked at Scarlett.
Scarlett Glenn and Nathaniel York both turned to look, only then did Matilda realize that her applause seemed out of place. She quickly lowered her hands, giggled sheepishly, and slipped a step further behind Scarlett.
There was a cold glint in Nathaniel's eyes, "So, it seems Miss Glenn is not willing to give me face."
Scarlett nodded, "Of course, I want to give."
Matilda looked at Scarlett in surprise; was the goddess not going to protect her?
Then she heard Scarlett leisurely reply, "But... the premise is, first, you need to have a face. If you have a face... then I can give. But if you have no face and still insist that I give you, wouldn't that be asking too much?"
