Scarlett Glenn squinted her eyes at Ruka Glenn, and suddenly realized that there was something strange about Ruka's gaze - she seemed to be pleading.
Scarlett knew Ruka well, as they had lived together since their childhood in the countryside. So, she knew Ruka inside and out.
But there was something different about Ruka today.
Suppressing her doubts, Scarlett asked, "What if I say no?"
Ruka clenched her teeth and said, "I just want to make a trade with you."
"What kind of trade?"
"Our respective secrets... I won't tell anyone about your dealings in Country M, and I hope you won't reveal my past either."
Scarlett clenched her hand, pondering whether she should agree or not.
Their respective secrets... Scarlett thought she had some idea what they were.
Suddenly, Ruka glanced behind Scarlett and said, "I have to go. If you think you can agree, give me a call. I think you know my phone number."
