Seraphine Moore stumbled out of the Police Department in a daze, feeling light-headed and seeing in black and white.
The police hadn't made things difficult for her. Her family had fought for her civil compensation, but from now on, her reputation would be so tarnished in the circle of Lostswa that she would be unable to redeem herself.
She had lost her job and destroyed her reputation. She couldn't face anyone anymore.
A black sedan suddenly stopped in front of her. She was startled and stumbled, almost falling over.
The car door opened, revealing a gentle and smiling face of a woman.
Seraphine Moore gasped incredulously, "Vanessa?"
"Get in the car."
Seraphine Moore looked around. She didn't see any of her family members. The woman seemed to have read her mind and said, "Madam Moore won't come."
Tears welled up in Seraphine's eyes. Was her mother also giving up on her?
Without any hesitation, she bent down and climbed into the car.
