Time flowed quietly, and when Aubree Groove opened her eyes again, she saw the statue-like handsome features of a man bathed in the sunlight.
She blinked, dazed for a moment.
Her mature calmness faded; she now seemed like an adorable, unaware bunny whose tender, porcelain skin one could not resist pinching.
The man appeared more introspective.
"So, it's you," She flashed a light smile and sat up gradually.
"It's almost noon, I didn't know I slept that long."
As she spoke, she packed her laptop into her bag and stood up, embracing her books.
The man opposite took the books from her hand, lifting the thick pile with ease.
"I'll take care of it."
Without any protest, Aubree signaled him to put the books back in their place. After saying hello to the librarian, she headed out.
"Hungry? I'll treat you to lunch." The man asked as they stood in the elevator.
