Mistress, having grown up in a Buddhist nunnery, probably hadn't played cards before, and they nearly forgot about it.
Agave Rinto glanced at Aubree Grove.
Aubree Grove smiled casually and said, "I've watched others play it."
"Let me go over the rules one more time." Dallyn quickly explained them, and Aubree Grove listened carefully, "I've got it."
Dallyn thought, since the mistress had never played cards, she must take care of her. She couldn't let the mistress lose in the first round, that would be too embarrassing.
"Just one reminder, the loser has to stick a post-it note on their face."
In the first game, Dallyn was the landlord. She snickered: "Master McKay, Mistress, sorry about this."
With two jokers and three twos, she'd be a joke if she lost this excellent hand.
First, she laid out a straight flush. Dallyn crossed one leg over the other, looking quite smug.
