Madam Aria gradually calmed down, lying in bed with empty eyes, motionless.
Peter Aria tucked her in, gently saying, "Go to sleep early. Tomorrow will be a good day."
As he got up to leave, his hand was suddenly grabbed.
Peter turned to look, a hand like an old vine was gripping his.
"There will be trouble tomorrow."
Peter was stunned, quietly consoling, "I'm here, nothing bad will happen. You just rest."
"Peter, do you remember the legend of the Hayley Family Treasure?"
Peter Aria answered, "Isn't it just a rumor?"
Madam Aria shook her head, "I've been reminiscing about my youth these days, when I was young and naive. Looking back now, everything was a carefully designed trap, for which I paid a terrible price."
Peter sat back down: "Please, go on."
The wind from the window blended into the long night, making it an unbearable one.
