Edward Wheeler 'Bright Righteousness' had never noticed before how his son's eyes would sparkle every time he saw him return.
"Didn't you say Mrs. Kiara had something for you to do? Why are you back so soon?" Isaac asked in confusion.
"It's nothing."
Second Brother looked at the child, then at Isaac, and turned to enter the bedroom, closing the door behind him with no one knowing what he was doing inside.
Zoe and Isaac exchanged glances. "Mother, is Dad unhappy?"
Zoe was a very observant kid; she could detect changes in the adults' emotions.
Isaac shook his head, puzzled.
She could feel that Second Brother was not unhappy but enveloped in another kind of emotion that was indescribable, as if shrouded in a mist.
On the way home, Kiara and Mario Yuno didn't speak.
Although Kiara appeared almost indifferently objective in front of Second Brother, Mario Yuno knew she wasn't as unruffled as she seemed.
