"Dr. Clark, the reason I've come to you is to ask—" Jojo's father hadn't finished his sentence when Kiara made a startling move, bolting and running off. Camden's reflexes were sharp too; seeing her run, he followed suit, and they both reached the car, opening the door, starting the engine, and getting away smoothly and swiftly.
By the time Jojo's father caught up, the only thing the suave Mrs. Kiara left him was a trail of exhaust fumes.
Jojo's father watched her leave, annoyed. He had finally found out where Kiara lived and brought gifts to ask for her help, only to have her run away.
After getting in the car, Kiara immediately called her mother.
"Mum, someone will come knocking on the door asking if this is Emma Clark's home; just tell them there's no such person here and direct them to knock upstairs."
"Kiara, who is it?"
"An unimportant person."
