Sean Wong had previously wanted Kiara to assist in assessing his gay son, essentially trying to make her an accomplice in a scheme for a sham marriage. After Kiara refused and harbored resentment, and given that his business had been repeatedly intercepted by elder Brother and the parents of that girl from before, in desperation, he offered a hefty sum to James Norris to hypnotize Yuki Stone and, in turn, bring misfortune upon Kiara.
Unexpectedly, due to a stroke of luck and her own instincts, Kiara managed to hold her ground against Norris in the face of unknown techniques, and Sean Wong's conspiracy was exposed.
Elder Brother felt the most guilty about this matter.
"If it wasn't for my eagerness to collaborate with the Smith Family at the time, I wouldn't have taken this case for Kiara. If Kiara hadn't accepted it, none of this would have followed. Thankfully, the Stone Family's issues have been resolved, otherwise, I truly feel like I would have let down Kiara and Yuki Stone."
