Rowan Benett sat in Joel Russo's office, wearing high-end noise-canceling headphones, and had just finished a game when he turned his head to see Joel still expressionlessly reviewing documents.
It was only when he saw him put the document aside that Rowan eagerly said during the momentary gap:
"Brother Russo, about the school anniversary celebration tomorrow, you should have received the invitation, right? Are you going or not?"
"…" Joel didn't say a word, casually picking up another document.
"I asked sister-in-law, and she's going too, together with Isabella Harrison."
Joel's eyes lifted.
Rowan's eyelids twitched slightly, and then while sliding on his phone, he leaned back on the couch and said indifferently, "You might not know, but sister-in-law was once forced to withdraw from university. And guess what, she actually received an invitation letter from the school…"
Joel finally frowned, and Rowan, having made his point, paused for a moment and sighed.
