Arabella Vanderbilt felt unexpectedly spoiled.
She stared at the apple for a long time without reaching out to take it.
Joel Russo's fair and attractive hand shook it twice at her, whispering:
"After talking for so long, isn't your mouth dry?"
Grandma Rodbell raised her eyebrows slightly, lowered her head to pick up the teacup on the coffee table, took a small sip, and said nothing.
Arabella Vanderbilt nervously accepted the apple, accidentally touching Joel Russo's fingertips in the process, which were somewhat cold.
"Thank you."
She lowered her head, held the apple, and took a bite, its crisp "crunch" sounding particularly pleasing to the ear.
A glint passed through Joel Russo's dark eyes as he placed the fruit knife on the coffee table and casually pulled out two tissues to meticulously wipe his long, well-defined fingers.
The meticulousness of his actions was enough to show that he really hadn't done such a thing before.
