Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 The Master Said

Arabella Vanderbilt hesitated slightly, but responded, "Come in!"

The cool voice had just fallen when the door to the hospital room was opened, and a completely unfamiliar man, tall and dressed in a black suit, entered.

Arabella raised an eyebrow, "Who are you?"

Vincent politely nodded towards Arabella.

"Miss Vanderbilt, how do you do, I am Mr. Russo's Special Assistant Vincent. This is the plain congee and side dishes Mr. Russo asked me to prepare for you."

"..."

As clever as Arabella was, she had almost no doubt that the "Mr. Russo" mentioned by this man named Vincent must be none other than Joel Russo.

But could his actions really be this swift and direct?

"Special Assistant Vincent, sorry... I think, I have not gotten to know your Mr. Russo that well..."

"Miss Vanderbilt, Mr. Russo said that you've just woken up and shouldn't eat anything too rich. If you refuse, it means you don't like these dishes. He then instructed me to bring you other food, under the condition that it must be light, until you are satisfied and willing to eat."

Vincent seemed to have anticipated Arabella's refusal; before the last note of her sentence had even dropped, he immediately followed up.

His expression was impassive as he spoke, polite but neither humble nor arrogant, his language concise without any superfluous words, and he articulated Joel Russo's intentions and attitude with unquestionable clarity.

Seeing him was like seeing Joel Russo.

This person, his abilities were definitely extraordinary.

Arabella couldn't help but take another look at Vincent, a flash of admiration passing through her delicate eyes.

However...

She brushed back her hair with a somewhat helpless gesture and then said to Vincent:

"There's no need to bother, please thank Mr. Russo for me."

Vincent stepped forward, placed the fine paper bag on the cabinet, and then bowed slightly to Arabella.

"Miss Vanderbilt, please enjoy your meal."

"Alright!"

Arabella nodded in acknowledgment, Vincent straightened up but stood to one side, not intending to leave the room.

Arabella looked up at him.

Upon catching her gaze, Vincent added, "Mr. Russo has asked me to watch you finish your meal."

Arabella clearly felt a strong twitch at her brow.

She pursed her lips, extended her hand to open the bag on the table, and when she noticed the logo on the bag, she was taken aback for a moment.

It was congee from Wish Pavilion.

It was common knowledge that within Wish Pavilion, everything was antique and classical, serene and gentle, with rustic pavilions and flowing water.

Though the facade was modest, every dish served there was exquisitely delicious.

In an age where people had grown accustomed to heavy and extravagant meals, more and more attention was being paid to nourishment. Moreover, no alcohol was served at Wish Pavilion, no takeout was allowed, and only water and tea were available. Guests were also discouraged from speaking loudly during their meals.

Yet, despite all these strict rules, the place was always packed to the brim.

There were never enough seats inside, and if you wanted to dine there, you had no choice but to await your turn in line obediently.

Getting to eat food from Wish Pavilion had long since ceased to be a matter of how much money you had.

And yet, she had parted from Joel Russo not more than half an hour ago, and now, the congee from Wish Pavilion was already before her...

Arabella couldn't help but grow a bit curious about this man named Joel Russo.

She opened the packaging without batting an eye, yet internally she was astounded once again; even the takeout box and other utensils were made from rosewood.

Truly lavish.

There was no need to speak of the taste of the congee and side dishes, but Arabella only took one spoonful before she looked up.

She glanced at Vincent, and Vincent was staring at her.
