When Arabella Vanderbilt descended the stairs, the Old Madam and the butler Leila were anxiously looking up from the bottom of the staircase.
Anxious that something unpleasant might come from above.
"Arabella girl, have you all... finished discussing? That stinky boy didn't bully you, did he?"
Arabella just felt the hot blood on her face had not fully circulated yet, scorching her to the point of not knowing what to do.
"It's nothing, Grandma."
She lowered her head and hooked a strand of hair behind her ear with her hand, covering her embarrassment with the movement.
The Old Madam leaned forward, squinting her eyes to observe Arabella's every move, and finally unfolded a meaningful smile.
Then, she saw Joel's straight and slender figure slowly appearing behind Arabella, and her smile gradually faded as she said with a hint of irritation:
"Weren't you busy? What are you doing back here?!"
