At night, when it was quiet, after all the visitors had left the hospital room, Monica noticed the exhaustion in Victor's face.
"Sleep for a bit, you're going to wear yourself out before the baby is even born if you keep going like this," Monica said to Victor with a touch of concern. "I'm not that fragile."
"I want to be the first one to see our child," Victor murmured, bringing Monica's hand to his face. "And the fact that you've been having contractions these past few days and there's nothing I can do about it... it's been keeping me awake with guilt."
"It's all worth it, to have a child for the man I love," Monica responded emotionally, "Come and sleep with me for a bit."
"I'm afraid I'll squeeze you."
Monica couldn't help but laugh, "It's a double bed..."
