Noah Clarke glanced at Robin Stewart and answered seriously, devoid of his usual frivolity, "No one would want someone who constantly denies their worth."
Noah's response was always tight-lipped, and it was the same this time.
He lightly pointed out Robin's sorry state, but also tactfully sidestepped the cutting question that Robin wanted answered. It's not about whether he wanted her or not. It's about the fact that no man would want her.
Robin almost forgot that Noah's identity was the Artist Director and Director of Public Relations at Ocean Entertainment Group. His words were always unassailable, leaving no loopholes to exploit.
And so, she snorted and sat quietly in the car without a word.
She didn't like feeling uncertain, she didn't like evasion, and most importantly, she was scared. She was terrified, really.
Perhaps sensing the tense atmosphere in the car, Noah coughed lightly, then said to Robin, "We're at your place..."
