Tercy Mason found herself in an awkward position again.
Ella Lacey came to the rescue, "Let's sit down and eat. There's so much delicious food on this table, it would be wasteful not to eat."
"Yeah, Tercy, Ruben, let's eat quickly." Yolanda Bardot understood Ella's intention and tried to lighten the mood.
But Tercy suddenly called for a waiter from outside the door, her face serious, "Bring a box of beer."
"Very well, Miss."
Ella noticed she was upset, but felt obligated to console her, "Tercy, we have cola and juice, why would you ask for beer?"
Tercy though, responded with silence, keeping her head low as she ate sullenly.
The atmosphere at the table gradually froze over.
Ella couldn't help but blame herself in her mind. If she had known, she wouldn't have asked Ruben to join them. They were acting so detached, like complete strangers.
The beer was quickly served.
Tercy gave the order to the waiter, "Open them all, put them on the table."
