Penny Sullivan pointed at the untouched bowl and chopsticks before him, "Ruben, time to eat."
"..." Ruben Finnegan gathered his wits, picked up his chopsticks, took a bite of the roasted eggplant, chewing it, "Aunt Sullivan's cooking is still so good."
"This roasted eggplant wasn't made by me, it was Ella." Penny Sullivan said with a hint of pride.
"...Oh." Ruben Finnegan responded nonchalantly.
He remembered that Ella Lacey's cooking skills had evolved in Smallville, and he had been a witness to it.
He turned and flashed a smile at Ella Lacey, "Ella, the eggplant is very delicious."
"Thank you for your compliment, Ruben. If you like it, eat more." Ella Lacey replied.
Ella Lacey had had enough playtime with Arthur Lindsey. She rolled off, sat obediently by his side, and started fiddling with her own bowl of rice.
