"Come on, you carry her." Emma Campbell returned to her usual cold tone, speaking to Vermes Marley.
"Is she okay?" Vermes Marley was worried.
"Don't you trust my word?" Emma Campbell asked, already taking the lead.
With his lanky physique, Vermes Marley encountered no trouble carrying a petite Ella Lacey.
Emma Campbell casually remarked, "In half an hour, she will wake up, forgetting the part about the landslide."
"You're afraid she..." Vermes Marley began, then stopped, suspiciously interrogating, "What did you do to her — is there something wrong with that medicine?"
"It's for her own good. In her heart, Harry North will always be alive, just missing, whereabouts unknown," Emma Campbell replied darkly, snapping off a nearby branch and thrusting it diagonally into the soft soil.
"That medicine can erase memories?" Vermes Marley pressed on, glancing at Ella Lacey who was asleep on his back. "Sure there are no side effects?"
