The next morning, bright and early, Arthur Lindsey drove his family to drop off Ella Lacey for her high school entrance exam.
"Ella, don't worry too much when you enter the examination hall. As your mother, I don't expect astonishing scores from you. Just do as well as you usually do," Penny Sullivan had gradually learned more about Ella's performance since she had come back. The miracle she had previously mentioned now seemed highly unlikely to happen.
"Ella, keep calm, answer the easy questions first, then the difficult ones. Let the result be whatever it will be," Wilton Lindsey instructed her methodically.
Hearing this, Ella felt a bit disheartened. It seemed that both her mom and Wilton thought she had no chance of getting into the city's top high school.
